My fellow Muskie Anglers;

I jumped aboard with my large girth several weeks ago for getting in shape for Muskie season and there were plenty of participants...where are you guys?.  Am I the lone survivor?.

Let this post be an encouragement to all that 16 lbs of flubber has departed this old frame through lots-o-sweat!  The BigO was last seen playing Basketball using all the available oxygen in the gym, mumbling "Man I need a Pizza!".

Let's hear of other master anglers and their battle to shape up for the season.

Big O I'm still with you man. I just didn't have time to log in before I flew the coop this morning.

Down another 1/2 pound this week to 182. That's doing nothing more than changing my eating habits. The clothes are back to fitting a little better. 10 - 12 more pounds and I'll be at High School weight.

Mr. Smith may be afraid to check. I caught him wolfing an order of nachos and cheese at the muskie show last Sat. To his credit he was drinking a diet Coke, so at least it was a half hearted attempt.

I'm still with ya. Down to 269 this morning, started Jan. 13 at 294. Had a ribeye w/mushrooms, green beans, and a nice salad for supper tonight. Man I love this Atkins diet! Congrats BigO and Theedz, keep it going and we'll all be in Speedos by June.

I'm w/ you my cousin, only I'm headed in the opposite direction! I just polished off 2 gigantuous, humongo bowls of chocolate ice cream...hopefully by the time the Cave Run Outing is upon us, I will be hardly able to walk; me goal is to stuff myself until I have no neck, and the only thing showing are hands and feet...in essence, I will have become a "HUMAN BOBBER"!

I am starting to workout hardcore on Monday, I'm going to do some serious running and lifting. I'm weighing in at 247 today. I plan on putting 1500 miles on the bike this year as soon as we have some consistent 45-50 degree weather. I only biked about 600 miles this past year and dropped around 15 pounds, most years I can drop about 30........wish me luck.

This is Sat. I was 232 this morning.

In the past week I was diagnosed with having sleep apnea. Also associated with elevated blood pressure, cholesterol and being overweight. The really good news is they figure with regular exercise and improved diet and they want 30 pounds off of me that I won't need surgery or the CPAP machine.

Go out and pick up one of your 15lb. anchors from your boat and carry it around with you for a 1/2 hour... Now think that if your that much overweight your carrying that all the time.....and I'm carrying two anchors around with me...:(

So the wife and I have invested in some new home gym equipment and I'm well on my way to a new lifestyle of eating habits....

I'm looking to be back to 195-200 by October 1st.....the last time I was at that weight was about 20 years ago and I was still a musician playing on the road and eating on a semi-regular basis, I think I even still had hair back then too..:)

With just getting started in regular exercise program I can't beleive how much better I feel already. Can't wait to see how good I'll feel when the weight starts to come off. I'll still be bald and ugly but a much leaner meaner musky fight'n machine...

I'm actually excited about this, hard as it is to believe...But I'll be in better shape in my early 40's than I have been in the past 20 years...:):):):)

Bring on the 50"er's I'm ready....

Mark, get hold of MJB 04, he has a good plan that will take off the weight, yet you won't get aggravated by doing it. I was talking to him about it on the chat line one night about it; maybe he will see this and reply. I may even try to lose 5-10 lbs meself. Denial of the Coke Cola/Pay Day for a week will take care of that!

Lost nothing. Boat and sport shows, eating at Midnight. Haven't had a beer in over 4 months. Life is good, anyhow!!
