| Hey guys not sure if this has been asked but if it has sorry!
Wondering everyones thoughts between these 2 reels? I own a calcutta TE but am thinking about selling it and getting a new 2013 curado. Is this going to be a decision I am going to regret or be happy with?

| It's a TE 300. I use it for top raiders, regular dogs, 8's, sometimes 10's etc.. |

Location: Grand Marais, MN | the curado wont handle 10's like your 300te will. other than that, it is a pretty awesome reel, great for topwaters and jerkbaits in my experience. I wouldn't get rid of your calcutta, but a curado is awesome to have too, it is effortless to cast and retrieve and super comfortable to palm.
dont know what you mean by a 2013 model. as far as i know the curado 300e hasnt changed for a few years. actually I even prefer the design of the older curado 300dsv, although they aren't super different. |

There is a Curado G out, however, Shimano is still offering the more popular 300E and 300EJ. I would get some reviews on the G before pulling the trigger, but I can tell you the EJ I have is a solid reel with a fast pick-up. It will take in a few more inches of line than the TE, but if you're looking for it to pull 10's, you might be disappointed. I got it for working fast jerkbaits and walk the dog top-waters b/c it picks up 30 inches of line and I absolutely loved the bass-sized E I had years ago. |

The only 300 size curado reel out is the 300e or 300ej, both great reels, but not available in the g series, not that i'd want one in the g series as shimano seems to be cheeping out on those reels in the new models. the whole reducing weight issue is a joke, i'd rather a 14oz. reel that preforms perfectly with all aluminum components than a 9oz reel made of plastic and always breaking down like a lot of new reels do. |

Location: WI | They're both great. I use the Curado for WTD lures, jerks & gliders. TE for small to med bucktails and topwater. The Curado is definately more comfortable to hold. You can find decent deals on a Curado on ebay, I saved $50 on a brand new one a few years ago. Get both! |

Location: wild rose, wi | I have a longranger and a top & tail' both set up with curado300 ejs. they both cast like a country mile. As far as dbl. 10's, no problems.. Would I recommend the curados---- hell yeah!!! |

Location: New Jersey | Sorry abt that. I did see the G series and didn't realize they weren't offering a 300. I had a bass guy buy the 200e I had and he told me that he liked them much better than the G. I've given my 300EJ time on both my Top N' Tail and Classic Jerk so far this year and it was perfect on both rods. Can't say that I have thrown many bucktails yet. |

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | I'm using my EJ more then my TE's at this point. Unless you're using a lot of heavy baits or need the clicker the EJ is the way to go IMOP. I'll be buying another one this season. |

Location: Lake St. Clair | I have a curado 300e and love it for smaller baits. I have a calcutta 400b that I got because I didn't want to pay $375 for a used TE. I absolutely love it and have it paired with a magnum bulldawg pro series and use this rig for big rubber and big blades. Great setup! |

don't know how new that reel is. As far as i knew when i first saw that a few years ago on ebay is that it is just a different colored EJ and not in the US. same gearing and line recovery, just real sharp looking. |
