Hi All, I just finished up my first batch of topwaters for release. The baits have a 5.5” body length and a weight of 3 oz. They are made from a hand poured 12lb density polyurethane foam. This gives it a density halfway between balsa and cedar. The baits have a hand formed closed loop through wire construction and a hard epoxy finish. The Topper has deeply cupped globe style blades mounted on easy spinning rivet bearings; overall length on the topper is 7.5”. The wide body convex bottom design of the creeper allows for a very nice walking action. All craftsmanship is guaranteed. This batch I’m bringing to the Milwaukee show at the end of the week. I plan to make one more batch before springtime and am now starting a build list. Thanks very much guys.
The stuff I use for the bodies is from a company in Hollywood that makes props and stuff. Their website isn’t working properly right now, but here’s the stuff I use:
There are many other companies out there that make rigid urethane foams in varying densities though. You’ll need a robust mold to withstand the foaming pressure. I use CNC cut aluminum, but a casting a metal filled epoxy mold may work too. Pre-warm the mold and vent it well along the parting line.

We sprung for a booth this year Todd, you’ll have to come visit us at the fairgrounds. We may go to the swap, probably not carrying that much though.
