New to muskie fishing and just caught my first one now can't stop thinking about more fishing. Would really appreciate your guys opinion on the best muskie fishing within about 2 or 3 hours from Chicago.... Thanks to all responders

pewaukee, okauchee, oconomowoc lakes in se wisconsin. monona, waubesa on the madison chain. petenwell flowage is about 2 hours as well.

theres tigers in the lake gelena, in the gelena terr. to your west. try the little river under the lake itself

i second petenwell, great lake very underrated. its more like 3.5 hours away from chicago, but is worth the drive.

isn't galena private? i thought those lakes in the northwest corner, though kicking out big tigers, were all private.

There's a "gold mine" of lakes about 150 miles from Chicago in North Webster, Indiana. Easy to fish and great numbers lakes with a "better than average" chance at a true cornfed GIANT. Can't beat 'em for Fall musku hunting----Pat

You have the Fox chain right there as well. Not sure why it's not mentioned yet, but some nice fish in there, and this time of the year, you start seeing less and less drunken oversized speed boaters out there.

I'll second Pat with the Indiana Area Lakes in North Webster. Some really nice fish in those lakes and plenty of smaller Lakes to seek shelter on with the up coming cold and windy weather.
