With alll this talk of pures being off limits, are Tiger Muskies good to go? They only live 7 years anyway... Or are they just as fragile as pures? Thoughts? Edited by Nolan 7/2/2012 9:47 PM

Posts: 661 Location: Sussex, NJ | This is not a smart post....Just because the fish lives for 7 years doesn't mean you can treat it differently. Be smarter than this

well said,i would add most of the giants don't even have all those years left,so let's go for them, even if the water is at 85 no problem they will die in a couple of years anyway.. Edited by learntoswim 7/2/2012 11:39 PM

Sorry guys I wasn't really thinking right when I posted it. I meant to say is that since they are part pike, sterile, don't get as big, meaner, and live Shorter, if they can take the heat a little bit better... My bad for being an !diot and spelling it out that way Edited by Nolan 7/3/2012 5:11 AM

Posts: 1061 Location: Medford, WI | Don't worry about it, Nolan. I credit you for asking instead of just assuming and going out fishing, like many others would. People say "There's no such thing as a stupid question" - but then they're very quick to judge others for certain questions. Thanks for looking for answers to help you better understand the fish we chase around...and when it cools down, let's see some pics of a few big girls! -Jake Bucki

i would assume that hybrids being part pike that prefer cooler water would handle the high water temps less that pure strain could.

Then I assume you would be willing to pay the increase in licensing fees and taxes to enforce a ban? A ban would become another useless law on the books as it would not be enforcable. All someone has to do is say they are fishing for pike or some other species. Lets address the issue through education and not by adding more restrictive laws to the books.

Location: Minocqua, WI | Haha, Nice Bolinski. Lets just ban fishing all together... I feel bad for all the sore mouthes and hurt feelings I have caused... lol. If people just used common sense and treated fish with care it wouldnt even be much of an issue. The fish's wellbeing should always come first; especially so with high water temps. If your going to fish during the heat, get em in the net and release them asap. If its hooked deep or seems extra stressed, forget the pic and get it back right away. Also, the 7 year tiger theory... really? Believe half of what you read and none of what you hear... Edited by WI Duck Guide 7/8/2012 11:11 AM
