I will be heading to turtle flowage and staying near fishermans landing the 21st-26th. We're also thinking of trying any other lakes in the area, too. Any info/help you would be willing to share will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

TFF has been kicking our butts this summer. Mercer lake or Manitowish might make better options, although with a slow summer the TFF has to pick up sometime. Try topwaters or big bucktails around the red cabbage near river channels.

i own a place on tff .it;s a tough nut to crack for quality muskies.not many per acre compared to other lakes in the area. Try mercer, long, spider, wilson lake is close. moose lake is a sure thing ,but small size.

I agree, not to mention TFF has a ton of unmarked hazards and if you don't know your way it can be very treacherous. Awesome lake for everything else, especially camping.

She's about 3 feet low and dirty as heck. Be careful around Fisherman's. Weeds are starting to die off. Try out Trude if they aren't going anywhere else.

We had a pretty good trip catching 3 each and losing/missing/raising probably another 8-10. Talked to some others fishing up there who had been there alot longer and they were having a tough time so we felt pretty lucky. Fish we caught ranged from low 30's up to 45.5". We fished Wilson the first morning and I caught 1 and raised 1 but they were both pretty small so we stuck to the flowage the rest of the trip. What a beautiful body of water though and can't wait to get back up there!

NICE! Gives me hope for next week. Looking to spend a day or two out there to enjoy the colors if anything.

I've got a buddy who lives around Springstead Landing area. Been hearing a lot of conflicting reports about poor water clarity and how it's been not so good for fishing. That's why I stayed away this weekend.

How was visibility out there for you guys?

It wasn't bad but then again we are from Madison so we're pretty used to it. Trude was really good though, clear black water was pretty cool.
