| What does eveyone think of the Okuma rods. I am looking at the 8'6" XXH and just wanted to get some opinions.

Location: APPLETON, WI | For the money, I don't think you can go wrong. I don't own one, personally, but the consensus across the forum seems to be that they're a great rod for the cash.
Others will most definitely chime in, I'm sure.
Oh, and I'm certain everyone is gonna ask if you searched at all because there's plenty of threads out there about the Okumas. Just thought I'd beat everyone else to the punch.

Location: Land of the Musky | I just got a 9'3" telescopic and it is a wonderful rod at first sight! My first telescopic musky rod that I have bought (besides the cheap crappie rods I have) and it is very nice. Rollie and Helen's was real fast on delivery too. 2 days and I had my rod. I don't think you will go wrong with this one.

Location: Baltimore, MD | I have the 8'6"XXH for large plastics, 7'4"H for jerking, and the 9'3"H Telescopic for everything else, and I will tell you that these rods will go toe-to-toe with any musky rods out there...and that includes the St Croix Legend Tournament rods which are only 1/2 oz. lighter by comparison. You can buy three Okumas for the price of one Legend Tournament! Tooth Tamer also has a great line of rods. I have two and without a doubt my favorite rod. Like what's been said, great price and warranty (and the service is 2nd to none if needed).

Location: Northern Wisconsin | I just got an 8'6" Xh okuma rod and used it for a few hours throwing 7inch suicks and it was great. During the season I will be using it for mag dawgs and other similar sized lures and it should be great. It has a softer tip but plenty of backbone. |

Location: Des Moines IA | I've got the 8'6 H, and XH, and two 9'3 XHs. Pretty much the only rods I use anymore. Good rod, Great price, and really good customer service. It's difficult to beat a lifetime warranty as well. |

| Just bought the 9'3" Heavy. Very impressed with construction and action. Can't wait for musky opener next weekend to put it through the paces. I would agree that it rivals my St. Croix Premier's and my Lamiglass. True test will be how it whales a lure and how it handles a fish... |

| I'd make sure to go online and fill out the warranty information on the rod, just in case. I broke an 8'6" XH fighting about an 80# stingray, and when I returned home, Okuma replaced the rod with no questions asked. I'd never think twice about buying another!!! |

| Put the new 9'3" Heavy to the test yesterday for the first time. Have to say that I was not disappointed. Found this rod to be quite versatile, able to throw double 12's as easily as the standard size Ghosttail.
Rod has some heft to it in the butt section and as such is a bit heavy overall but given its versatility this is a small tradeoff. The length allows me to make massive 8's that are as big as my boat is long. Talk about a cannon when it comes to casting!
Haven't tried to cast the big rubber lures with it yet but suspect it is capable. Believe that it will handle a fish well based on some flexibility in the tip to absorb shenanigans at boat side |

Location: Twin Cities | I've got an 8'6"H, XH and XXH and a 9'3"XXH and they are great. I agree with the toe-to-toe comment, telescoping has never been an issue and thats what I was leary about at first. |

| I have the 8'6" XXH Telescopic. It was a little top heavy, but I added some weight the butt section of the rod and it is great now. Great for large plastics and also works really well for Double 10s. No regrets here! |

| I bought a 9'3" okuma and now use if for everything, even gliders and jerks. I can't even throw my 8' que sticks anymore! |
