Please say a prayer or two for my dad if you all could. He passed away on Saturday morning. While not a Muskie Fisherman he lived to fish and hunt none the less. Lots of Bass and especially fly fishing for panfish. He tied a great fly that caught many sunfish over the years. I went hunting and fishing with him my whole life and will miss him so much. I consider myself very lucky to have had such a great dad who was also the best friend of my life.

Mike, with a good son like you to show for his life's efforts, he's on his way to Glory.
We'll pray for those still living to help make his passing bearable.
Sorry for your loss, I can tell you you never really 'get over it', but with the pain also comes glimpses of joy from good memories. m

Our prayers are with you and your family. I know all to well what you are going through. I lost my father/best friend/fishing partner in February. It was very empty in the boat this year. But our 6000 fishing days together in my life have left me with endless great memories. Focus and celebrate the great times you had together. I think about him everytime I leave the dirveway with the boat and turn right instead of left to go pick him up. I think about him everytime I hook a fish and the worlds best net-man isn't there to scoop it up. And after every Packer game when we'd celebrate the victory or armchair QB a loss. And on and on and on. It never goes away, but it certainly gets better with time. Again, my prayers are with you!

muskyone, Sorry for your loss, The others have said it well and I can only add one thing, not sure if you have kids yet or a buddy that may want to fish, No better honor for your Dad than to pass it on!! Keep the circle churning. I fished with my grandfather, I don't know how many times, he has been gone a long time and every time on the water I think of him. Nothing but good, To see my sons doing it now, Is Absoulutely the best thing there could be!

Hang in there Mike, all will be OK regardless of how things seem to be now. You will find yourself setting around thinking of your dad wanting to laugh and cry at the same time. These will be the things that you will always remember. Hope it helps. Dave.

My sympathies to you and your family. I lost my father over five years ago, and though the ache of the loss still pains me at times, I find the thoughts of the great times we had together more often bring a smile to my face.

Mike, Sorry to hear of your loss. Know that he raised you right, and that you will all be in our thoughts. I lost my Dad 30+ years ago, and while I don't feel the pain daily anymore, I sure do miss him when I'm fishing or hunting.
