There is a spot that you go to to make the change on unit so it will read the file on the chip, don't know where without the unit in my hand.

muskihntr & others, I am looking at getting one this weekend. I often don't have my boat but like what I saw of the unit so far.

Any comments - goo or bad? I've owned a GlobalMap 100 for some time and I think I can adjust to this unit rather quickly.

Thanks
Gerard

I have had mine for two seasons now and have no complaints, although I wish I would have waited a year and bougth the color version...

I have a ram mount at my consol and another one up at the bow next to the trolling motor sonar. This way I can mark waypoints or creat a trail while driving the boat and then quickly move the unit to the bow to then fish those waypoints or trail. This is my primary purpose for this unit. I only use it for marking structure I want to have marked for fishing and for holding several back-up trails for navigation in case my primary consol unit (X15) would go down on me.

I also use if for ice fishing. Overall I have been quite pleased, easy to use, reliable, and it gets good performance from AA batteries if you don't have an accessory plug in available.

Best,

On my GlobalMap 100, you have to be moving a "good clip" to have the unit keep correct track of a trail. If I run a reef with my trolling motor it will not mark a trail until I leave the area with the big motor or turn the unit off and on. It that true with the iFinderH2O? Or can the unit keep track of a slow movements like motion with a trollling motor?

im actually borrowing the i finder from a buddy, i plan to use it up on eagle next week so ill know alot more about it when i get back..it is the black and white version...so far just playin with it at home im impressed with it, the only thing i noticed is you cannot zoom in as much as my dash unit (lms332c) but the screen is so small you probablly wouldnt want to!

The tiniest of movements will be tracked. You can cast your favorite weedline and watch your path right along the break. Awesome unit. I can't believe I ever fished without one!

I have had the H2O C this year, really happy with it overall. It seems to track better than my old Garmin.

I if you get into them and get the maps, be aware that while some maps are spot-on as far as accuracy, some are not. Apparently the Navionics and Lakemaster vary somewhat in lake-by-lake details but not a whole lot. I have Lake master because it has detailed top maps and I don't have to go through any menu options to find the map on a card--when you put the card in the back it automatically loads it. I'm also pretty impressed with the battery life--seems like my color unit seems to go almost as long as my old b&w running on batteries.

If I could change anything on the unit: the power button is kind of funky becaus it is also the light switch and I wish there were more icons. I am really happy about the way it plops icons down, but I could use a few more.

If you are using the maps, buy the color. I didn't think it was necessary at first, but I think it was like $70-80 and it really does make reading the maps easy. and makes it worth the extra money.

Musky Nut...

Mine has no problem tracking a trail at trolling motor speeds.

Mine only loads when I have new batteries or the 12v adapter connected. If the map is going to load the unit starts pretty quick. If it starts slow, no map.

I finally picked up my iFinder h2o and can't get it to initalize. Do you need a chip to do this? Nothing in the manual about this.

the unit can't find itself. I have my old unit and give the new one precise location and it still can't pick up the on the location.

I check the Lowranceweb site and did all the suggestion.

Anybody like to help?

Thanks

Called Tulsa today. My new unit doesn't work. Only able to lock (not really a lock, only about a 1/2 a bar) on two satellites and most of the time none. I hope I get the replacement prior to leaving Friday morning for Eagle.
Keep your fingers crpssed.
