Location: The Yahara Chain | Anybody ever the see shark show where they are studying Great Whites on an Island that Sea Lions use to mate. The Great Whites show up in huge numbers. They had a shot of a scientist retrieving a surf board and a Great White just exploding on the board, the board got broken in half and sent several feet into the air. The most incredible surface bait hit that I have ever scene.

Posts: 2865 Location: Brookfield, WI | Troy, That is in the Farallon Islands off the coast of northern California. There's a book called the "The Devil's Teeth" by Susan Casey about the great white research done there, and the obsession of the researchers with these fish. Good read. They call the giant females that frequent that area in the fall "The Sisterhood". Guys obsessed with huge female fish in the fall, who woulda thunk it? Kevin I plan never to ever swim in those waters.

Posts: 20212 Location: oswego, il | Schuler, I seen another really neat one a few years ago. These guys were trolling for makos. They were trolling fish at 30mph! and these fish were not reaction striking but following these baits for awhile!

Location: The Yahara Chain | Apparently surf boards look an awful lot like sea lions from below. I wouldn't be surfing around those guys...definitely need to call Quinn to do some shark hunting. Edited by Bytor 4/4/2006 1:46 PM
