What type of plastics do you prefer for jigging(not swimming) on your Musky jigs, and where do you get them? I am looking for a few of the older creature type plastics with the big flat paddle on the end for my jigs and also for a few spinnerbaits. I use big curly tals and big paddle tails like Salt Shakers on my jigs now, but swim them most of the time. Will be doing more jigging at certain times this year and would like to stock up on some of the plastics. Drop me an email about obtaining some of the above, if you don't mind. I would buy some, or maybe we could work out a trade.... Thanks!!! [email protected]

Jiggs....big twister tails, large ribbon tail worms, lizards and jellyhoos.
Carolina rigging....frogs, lizzards and Sluggos

I'll use Bass stuff, the largest they make, in spring. I get all my stuff right at the Gander I work at.

Rollies still carries the old creature flaptails that you are talking about Jason, I see em at a few other shops as well. So many different types of plastics to choose from shapes and sizes....... I toss a little bit of everything but the old creatures are a standby.

Mr. Reef Hawg; Were you at the swap meet in Milwaukee.I had all kinds of hand poured Creatures. I think Mr. Worrall will agree that I pour up a #*^@ good Creature.
I pour paddle tails from 5.5 inch to 8.5inch. Fandango's, lizards with twister tail and flippinwaggler tails, and Bladed creatures W/skirts or W/out. Also do Multi-colored creatures Like a pearl body W/red tail...Skies the limit W/colors...Steve even took some pictures of them at the swap meet, you might be able to view yet...Also do Standup jig heads, and swimmer heads...Stand-up heads are similar to Jim Karens old jig-heads.
I never found a real good paddletail on the Market so I made my own , Pouring hard plastic W/ soft is the key to making the paddle come alive...Its kind of playing W/ the old creepy crawler set ...I must have 40 different patterns to style of creatures.. the skies the limit to different patterns. FUN! FUN! FUN!

I look for the biggest bass plastics and some saltwater plastics to use.
7" lizards, 7" shad tails and all of those new bass baits that have tails, tubes, flippers and wings all in one.
I still buy the original Creatures from Moores. Black and Chameleon are my favorites.
Don't be suprised if you hang some nice walleyes and bass-largemouth and smallmouth- while creature fishing.
There is nothing like feeling that "thump" or seeing your line twitch. You never know what is on the other end.

I think these pictures are from Jims table. I know that is a JD Headbanger (red/white) in one of the pictures. Great Top Water bait made by Jim Dembiec.

I will try to post those pics for him.

That is the stuff I am looking for!!! Wish I could get ahold of Moore. He must still be in Florida. Jim, I will be contacting you. Would love to see the paddle tails as my source has dried up, and order some of the others as pictures above.

I get all of my jigs and plastics from Jack's jigs. The 6" Magnum Twin Tail has been my most effective plastic.

Anyone interested in Jims stuff should go to his post and click on his name to get to his profile info. Then e-mail him.

He has everything and lives for muskies. I am sure he will help anyone with what they are looking for. Just give him a shout. He lives in Hartland about 10 miles from me.

If you want to make a mold for plastic tails, get some of the pourable plastic, and a glass braed dish or similar glass container. Superglue the tail bottom side to the glass dish. Allow the glue to cure, and spray the dish with silicone spray. Pour the mixed pourable plastic over the tail until it's covered by at least a 1/2", and let that cure, usually overnight. It will pop out of the dish easily. Take the tail out of the cavity, trim up the edges, and you have a plastisol pour mold.
