Slamr's current structure poat gave me an idea I think will be of interest. Each week I will pick an area on a lake somewhere in the US or Canada, unnamed, with a descrpition of the lake, the type of structure available, the prey available, and the density of the Muskie population. The question will be:

How would YOU fish this water.

Caragories will be:

Season

Lure type

Approach/Technique

Comments

What do you think? I feel once we have a few months examples up, it will become a valuable resource for those looking at fishing similar conditions for the first time, or to get a fresh, new perspective on different approaches.

Is this worth doing?

I think it is. Even though I don't fish for muskies, I still pick up lots of tips that work for pike as well. And it would be interesting to read about other people's methods and approaches. I liked the structure 101 discussions of Jason Smith a lot, and the discussions with jlong about sound and flash of lures

That would be pretty cool. You could even make a data base of some sort, not sure how you work this, and when enough info is gotten, a person could look in the database, find the lake type, and see what the reccomendations are. Sort of how you would do it on an indiviual named lake, just on a general level.
Good Lungen,

I'd try participate whenever I could and offer my $.02 It could be very informative.

Pro or amateur, rookie or veteran, I would encourage all to share their thoughts or questions. You never know what you could learn.

Ralph, I thought the winter months were for catching walleyes, drinking beer, playin cards and just plain havin fun.

Oh ya the lake question.

I think it will be a great way for all to share their opinions and approaches to a new lake. Its a great idea. Why wait till winter. Set up a map and lets pick it apart. The hard part will be setting up all the variables that will be involved with it.

I think that this would be a tremendous help for me to better understand why and when fish relate to certain structurs.

Will the lake be named eventually, or are you going to just list a type, as a general study? This sounds pretty neat.
