Hi everyone,

Have not done much trolling at all in the fall and may give it a try this year. Being in MN, I only have one rod I can use by law.

What is a decent trolling rod and what length would be suitable? Plan on putting on an older level wind reel with a good clicker...

Thanks

Steve

Ugly stick tiger rods.
Best trolling rods in my opinion.
I run 8 footers.
Medium heavy for out rods. Heavy for down rods.

I agree that tiger rods are nice, but I can't find any 8' except for medium light. Do they make a 8' mh or heavy?

Sorry, I need to correct myself.
My rods are 7 feet, not 8.
And they are medium, and medium heavy.
Guess I should pay a little more attention....

They are not in stock, in either store.

Thorne Bros also says in stock, order one and get a phone call saying, backordered until January.

Thorne Bros just got some 8' Heavy Denali "Bottom Feeder" e-glass rods in. They have more backbone than the TDR's and are only $50. Definitely worth a look. If I didn't have my two St. Croix Premier glass rods I'd probably go that route.

You mean the trigger handle (standard baitcaster handle)? If so I guess I don't mind. It fits in my Down-East'ers just fine and is all I've ever known.
