Posts: 53 Location: Manchester.UK | I know its a bit of a long shot but here goes,im in England and have a buddy in Canada who was goung to send me a net over he got a shipping price off UPS and Fedex something ridiculous like $1000cad ,unbelievable lol so i looked into it and these companies dont use surface shipping at all and only ship air freight and charge these sort of amounts. So my question is does anybody know of a company that ships by ground/surface to europe and the UK.Any help or info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Posts: 815 Location: Waukee, IA | Haha, I was just kidding. I don't know what the major delivery companies offer for sea based service, I would imagine it's limited. Having been said $1000 Canadian dollars seems absurdly expensive, there has to be a better option. How much is a similar net in the Kingdom?

Posts: 53 Location: Manchester.UK | Lol good one bud i thought you must have been, there are no nets in the UK anywhere near what you guys have,no Frabill,Beckman,Drifter or anything like that ,my pal sent me 4 rods in a tube cost $280 cad by UPS,the strange thing is i could send the same net to Canada from here by UPS for £101 so around $175 cad

Wow that's crazy expensive. I would look into maybe seeing how much it would be to get a replacement bag mailed to the UK. Then I would try to find someone that would custom make me a hoop/handle for the dimensions of the bag. Probably not cheap either but a lot cheaper than getting the entire net mailed to the UK. Good luck.

Posts: 53 Location: Manchester.UK | Sounds like that might be the only option or hope for a good trade deal when we leave the EU lol,we discussed cutting the hoop in half to get price down and have it welded when it got here but was still $420 cad,i find it hard to believe these prices but its something called volumetric weight bit of a con i think

Posts: 294 Location: Sakatchewan,Canada | Total con!!! I just had a pair of one pound lures along with a few other small terminal tackle items sent from Scotland to Canada. It cost me 15 British pounds for shipping. To have the same amount sent from USA to Canada would of cost much more!! Total rip off, USA to Canada isn't very far, I was surprised how cheap the shipping was from Scotland!

Like I said it cost more to have stuff sent from the USA to Canada then it did to have it sent from Scotland to Canada. North American shipping prices are insane! I have friends that have got free shipping from China to Canada...
