Posts: 171 | Because of the prices and the nearly impossible task of finding any to buy, what would you buy if only getting one? I would like to buy a Northern Lites version of either the Fat Bastard, Cannonball Jr, or Cannonball????

Posts: 35 | FB, best all around size I think. Dr.evil is small (even smaller than a top raider). Cannonball is just ridiculous. CBJ is the largest I would go, in fall if I was searching for a monster.

Crap, you mean I shouldn't feed my lure addiction any more since I have a nimmer swimmer and a twisted sister already......guess I will "maybe" try those more before I give in. I have not bought a muskie lure yet this year........I am starting to get the shakes.

Posts: 173 | I really like the cannon ball jr on the metro lakes because I think the big body displaces enough water to keep some of the surface weeds off the prop. less foul ups. On a cleaner lake, the fat bastard seems to be the best size.

Posts: 1425 Location: St. Lawrence River | I don't care about the hype. I like the fat bastard cause I feel like it's just about the perfect size, has a nice sound, and it doesn't roll at ALL on me. I cannot say the same for Lake X Dr Evil, Nitewalker, tallywacker, awaker, Lac Suel Turbo, older non-keel Lee Lures chopper and others. Rolling propbaits are a huge pet peeve of mine.. Consistent non-rollers (for me): Lake X Fat Bastard, Topraider, Pacemaker, Lee Lures Chopper(newer version with keel), lowrider. I love throwing a large pacemaker at night. Hold on.

I like the Suick Nite Walker but the advantage of the Fat Bastard is that is always working where the nite walker seems a bit more fussy. Like both and have caught fish on both but I would give a slight edge to Fat Bastard. I bought one when they first came out because I thought it looked like a slightly larger Nite Walker.

Not even close IMO. Slightly larger Nitewalker = Topraider.

Well, I have all three in my tackle box and to me, it resembles the nite walker, at least in the water, a lot more than the top raider. But then, they are all tail prop baits. Matter of perception I guess.
