| What's the best kicker position for trailering, up or down? Or do you use a transom saver for them as well |

| I vote down. Up harder on some brackets. I broke one, friedn did too by towing up. |

| I always trailered up until last fall when I hit the motherload of potholes and broke the angle bolt. Fortunately the brackets were intact. I now trailer down. Aluminum boat and no transom saver. |

Location: NE Ohio | well i put both of mine on transom savers and never have had any problem in over 25 years of trailering. but i would think if i didn't have a transom saver i would put it in the down position and locked there. |

| Down. On my ProKicker, I didn't worry about it, but on the previous 9.9's portables. I strapped it down to keep it from bouncing. |

| Yes, Power tilt & Trim on the ones I had. Sold my last boat in 2012 when the daughter was playing softball all over. Then divorced last fall, and two days later, I got this.
Oh, and for the fellas going through divorce? The women don't always get half. Sometimes they don't get anything! Checkmate, wench!

| Do the centering straps on the pro kickers keep it in place only in the up position? Mine does not have them but was considering getting them. Mine is a remote pro kicker so it is linked to my opti with the quick disconnect link. Are the straps reliable in big water? |

Location: Otsego, MN | My Pro Kicker with strap rides in the up position. I am new to this boat this year and don't have a lot of experience but when I spoke with a marine mechanic he stated that a small kicker WITH mechanical tilt/trim is light enough to rely on that for the support unlike larger motors. If I didn't have the controls for the kicker at the console it would ride in the down position.
I also have the support strap and it helps keep it centered while disconnected from the big Optimax. The strap only supports in the up position as it goes limp in the down position. |

| Yes, the remotes do not have the centering straps, because they are usually always connected to the big motor.
On my tiller version, the straps center the kicker in the up position when running the main motor. I adjusted the tiller tension on mine so it didn't swing when trailering in the down position. |
