My dad caught 1 in Minnesota years back--17" in length but absolutely not even close to that on girth---I think we weighed it at around 1 1/2 lbs . It was in the summer and was skinny---may have even been in late stages of life---but we were all surprised by the length thinking it was a walleye--but definitely a yellow perch. We managed many other large ones up to 12-13 inch range but that 17 was something. Probably should have had a taxidermist mount it and add some girth--would have looked impressive on the wall.

Any pictures? I'd like to see a 17" perch.

Huge perch! It's almost round, 15.5" length and 12.75" girth. One lake I fish for walleye's has big perch, 1.5lbers but #*^@, this one's in another league all together.
