Location: St Paul, Minnesota | I use the Super Mica Jacket by Marmot. It's the absolute lightest waterproof jacket on the market. It's made for rock climbing/hiking but works awesome for fishing purposes. It retails for $225, it breathes really well, it looks good, and it can pack up into the side pouch on my Lakewood tackle box. The material is this crazy light but durable material. I've had mine for 3 years now with no issue. I have a "Water Resistant" jacket that I fish with for most general chilly weather, but if a front rolls in and the rain starts coming down I just slip my Super Mica over it and keep on fishing, I don't even feel it on.

Location: MN | Goretex all the way. Cabelas makes some good Goretex rainsuits, I think they call it Guidewear? And if you get something with the Cabelas name on it the return policy is unmatched. I'm not sure if they have badazzed black in color but you could check. |

Yeah, thought so, too...til I tried to return my guidewear a few years ago when it leaked. Since I didnt have the receipt from 3 years prior, I basically had to downgrade. Now my downgraded set is leaking and though I thought I saved the receipt this time, I might be downgrading to a black plastic back when I return the set I have now. |

Location: Minneapolis, MN | It's probably not the best, especially as they make more expensive ones, but I had good luck with my marmot precip jacket last year. I enjoy that they have pitzips. Think I got it off amazon for like $50 when it was on sale, they normally run $100-$120 I believe. It's probably just a matter of time until I ruin it, as I'm hard on stuff, but then again I don't really expect lightweight stuff to last a long time. |

Location: minocqua, wi. | i've gone completely away from the big bulky guide wear and to the lightweight rain shells to just throw on over what i have already layered. easier especially when it's the constant on and off. i have the lightweight Helly Hanson stuff and it's great plus you can wear it for other uses than just in the boat. |

Location: Madtown, WI | I haven't had good luck with any gore-tex product. Seems awesome for a while but they all start to leak and I'm not talking about just along the seams. I'd highly recommend getting a non-fishing brand from a place like REI. My wife and I have both had Marmot rain jackets for years and they've stood the test of time despite being used and abused. They're quite fashionable too (important for the ladies). |

Location: Contrarian Island | I've had good luck w Mountain Hardwear and North Face rain jackets...check the REI Outlet online.. Cabelas makes some good stuff too...(some decent stuff on sale in the bargain bin)

I would look at the Slick Jacket from Simms...lighter weight than the Pro-dry series of jackets, but just as pricey! Happy birthday:) |
