Anyone know if cave run is still iced up? I know they had a nice stint of warmer weather. I'm itching for some Muskie fishin at the end of March!

Saw on Facebook that it is open now and Gregg Thomas posted he just caught his first one a day or so ago.

We pushed our trip back two weeks only because the temps are dropping this week. Hopefully it warms up a big in a couple of weeks.

Anyone else going down the week of the 10th? We are staying at Tony Grant's place again...the last time we went this early we were the only one's there the first few nights. It snowed like 5" and the place lost power, but we had our favorite cove all to ourselves and caught quite few fish. As long as our lures don't bounce we will be fishing:) BTW-Did Greg Thomas say what the water temp was?

I just looked at our calendar and noticed it is only 3 weeks until my son's Spring Break and we are going camping! Hope it warms up some, like soon!

My buddy and I are going down the following week and fishing with Tony on the 17th and 18th. My thoughts exactly......I don't care if the line on my reel is freezing, as long as it's fishable I'll be out there all day. Can't wait to get some lines wet!

I will echo the sentiments here...
I will be fishing as long as there is open water. I spoke with tony and he stated that the puddle is already open and that they are catching fish. Water temps between 38-48 degrees. I was amazed at the range of temps.

You should be good to go with those dates as the spawn will be a little behind this year.

4" Snow Last night! Thank goodness for no ice. Back into the 50's next week. Maybe this was the end of Wintergedden 2014 for the Cave!

Heading down the 26th! Anything above freezing will be a heatwave compared to Wisconsin. I am liking the reports on fish activity!
