| A tactic that I incorporated in my figure eighting at boat side has been doing an S" curve back and forth after doing a full figure eight at boatside. Once I finished doing an eight and the fish has followed without biting I swish my rod tip low in the water back and forth. I try to mimic walk the dog style movement of the bait, but with a methodic sweeping of the rod. Play around with speeding it up and slowing it down. I had a fish follow up a topraider as it pushed water to the boat and go into an eight, but to finally bite when "S" curving it. It works especially effective when wind is pushing the boat along and you can maintain forward movement on the bait. You can change things up such as eighting, circling and "S" curving to try and trigger a fish. It adds another dimension and helps on pressured waters. It's just another boatside tactic that adds some creativity to the already popular figure eight or big circle manuevers. catch ya later, Krappie | |||

| Fish into the sun, always. If the sun is in your face, it isn't in the muskie's at boatside. Keep the boat at right angles, so the sides do not reflect too much glare, especially during the mid morning and mid afternoon.[;)] | |||

| Pink Mag. Bulldawgs. A true producer in all conditions. 'Nuff said. | |||

| To watch Krappie work a fish is akin to having front row seats at the Moscow Ballet Revue. His movements, motions and gyrations bring a whole new meaning to the idea of interpretive dance! At Cave Run last year, I sat mesmorized, eating Pay Days, Jerky and guzzling Coke Colas as he spun a web of intrigue at boatside...actually, I learned a lot from he and his bro Cisco Kid, but never could perfect their fiqure 8s; no doubt the gargantuan amounts of candy, dried beef and pop had an adverse effect on me motor skills and the fact that they talk so daggone fast, I struggled to interpret their instructions! Wish I could help, but I have no secret weapon to contribute...[::)] | |||

| Black Bucktails with Nickel blades over the slop and in the docks. During the Aug.,Sept. and Oct. full moons..... Keep the rod tip at shoulder high when your bait hits the water and lower slowly as you bring your bait towards the boat. That way you can cast in 2ft of water just above the milfoil and not get hung up in the slop at night. There is a reason why its very dark out in many of my big fish backgrounds.[;)] | |||

| Pink and Black Boo-tail modified with dual Colorado or French blades black & pink or copper & red. Stained (not muddy) water, crank it just fast enough to get the blades turning. (slower is better in this case) Late August, Sept. "Big girls like to slow dance too"... Curly, | |||

| In one word...docks. It amazing how great that "structure" is. Its quite often they will just sit under docks. Be lookin good when its figure 8 time. | |||

| Fish a Triple D in the winter at the nearest River that has open water. If you get laid off and move again. Fish a Triple D in the winter at the nearest River that has a warm water discharge near the NSP plant. The river is one big puddle of mud. Not a word more. | |||

| secret weapon is the baits i make or modify in my basement ove the winter months and spank everyone with in the boat the next summer,but then they cry and then all i hear is where did you get that bait from??Mostly my secret baits have had some sort of rubber base to them,i think rubber is the way to go,and also throwning some old basic beginner baits that people seam to get away from.oops..i think i said to much already! | |||

| Don't just twitch it or jerk it. Rip the living &@#% out of it then let it pause. That wild burst of speed can make a musky go crazy. Blow it out, spin it out, make it come out of the water. It can get a little tiring but it's well worth the effort. | |||

| Fish IN the weeds. i like to fish little open aeras of the thick weedbeds. I either get a fish or a pile of weeds, most the time its weeds. Stick with it and it will pay off & Eaters No follows!! Keith Eldrup LLUNGEN.com | |||

| Fish the "thermal Refuge" that ciscoes live in.Its their cafeteria and air conditioner during much of the warm water season. Then fish the "Refuge" with a lure that will make the ultimate move or "bust out" as Todd M called it on command at depths of 25' to 40' | |||

| Fred's Tinseltails have been extremely deadly on fish that see the typical ordinary baits everyday. Especially bucktails. It is a bucktail itself, but it looks very different and its action is different than other bucktails too. I just started using them last season and I was amazed at the results. Something new and different always seems to work good on those educated or conditioned fish. You can see them at www.tinseltails.com | |||

| Follow the old-timers fishing for perch on my favorite Oneida County lake, they will always be more than willing let me fish by them because the muskies bite them off A LOT! | |||
| |||
| when things get really tough, I tie on my good old Ondex 5 spinner in brass with some perchbars. NEVER fails me. Ondex spinners are made by a French company called Rublex | |||
