There was an earlier thread about what to do to improve Muskie Shows. I wonder how far people travel and do they go just for the show?

I travel about 300 miles but work in some work & see family. W/O family or work as an excuse to go I doubt I would travel that far and spend gas and motel money to see the Musky Expo in Minnesota

Around 2 hours to either wassau expo or mn expo. We go for the show and seminars. Whole family comes along and has a blast. We fish, camp, hunt, and trap together. It might seem expensive but I don't go to bars or out that much and she doesn't drink at all. Neither of us smoke. So to spend a little on gas and have the whole family be happy isn't bad. The kids save money for their own baits and look forward to schmoozing with the big dogs they see on tv and stuff. I can think of alot of worse things to spend money on.

about an hour to the chi show and 2.5 to milwaukee. I will probably drop the chi showand just do the swap. after telling those financial guys no they waited two weeks and called me 5 more times. some kids raffle they were holding. if harassment is what I get for going to that show I will pass.

One hour to Wausau and three hours to the Minnesota show, but my son lives in Minnetonka so we make a weekend of it.

4.5 hours to the Chicago show and it is the closest. It is also the only one that we go to.

The columbus show was 1.5 hours from me. I will probably never go to a show.

3/4 mile from Rollie and Helens ... they run a show-price weekend for the locals with 20% discounts and gives us a chance to capture anything we might miss at the shows and be able to stay on the walleye bite on the ice.

Also think how far the vendors travel...closest is 3.5 hours for me furthest is 10 hours...along with other shows clocking in at 4.5 hours and 8 hours..and that is one way and just musky expos. We put a lot of time and money into doing these shows so we all appreciate those who come support us.

Jon, don't you feel that you are missing out on alot of cutting-edge information by missing all of the Show seminars?

I drove from Ludington, MI to Milwaukee a couple years ago. I've had date conflicts with the Chicago and Monroe ones.
