my gf has small hands too but she got one of the BPS reels and she loves it, but shes never tried one of the low pros and if she did I bet shed like it a lot more so I think those would work real well for her

Just make sure that you get it with the crank on the same side as her spinning reel. She will be able work and set a hook better, quicker and do all that in faster time.

I would go with the Revo Toro 50 for sure... My wife fishes with me a lot and uses the Revo Toro 60s and struggles some with them, I think the 50s would be great.

However it still takes alot of wrist strength and arm strength to to cup the reels in your hand and use the larger poles, reels and baits like we are used too. My wife has kind of adapted to her own way of holding the pole and reel. If they wanna fish with you they will make it work, but remember its little tougher for them when your picking out poles and baits too, at least until they catch the first fish and are hooked on the sport... But I think the Revo Toro 50 would make it alot easier.

And before someone else says is.... there are alot of "thats what she saids" in here...ha

Check out the Shimano Cardiff in the 300/301 size. A good, small, round reel at about $110. I've caught alot of muskies on this reel. Easy to palm and they have held up well for me.

Is there a spinning reel that would work for muskies? My G.F. backlashes the reel about every 5th cast and gets fustrated. Been thinking about trying a salt water spinning reel. any suggestions? Sorry to hijack your thread, but looked like it would tie in.

What about Pflueger 6760Xt? Or something similar?
Gear Ratio Is Low... Holds alot of line...

I would think something like this would work... I have seen people use spinning reels before but never tried it...

My wife has 2 combos she uses 90% Of the time. both are Shimano Curados a 330E and a 300DSV. Both on St.Croix 7'6" avids Hvy 1-6oz. The setups are light weight @ 1lb 3ozs.. she has no problem throwing them all day. When needed she will use a 400B on a 8'6" legend. A little more weight and harder to grab for smaller hands.
The key is to find her a reel that fits her hand and is comfortable no matter what brand.

There are many people that use spinning rods/reels for muskies. I will have a 9'6" spinning rod to look at the Chicago Muskie Show. Reels are endless of what you can use...depends on how much you want to spend. Look at all the saltwater spinning combos out there catching big fish and screaming drags.

I had Samantha try all my reels before she decided what she wanted for herself, from the Penn 975 all the way down to the 6500 to the Shimano Cardiff 300. She liked the Cardiff 300 the best, because her hands just aren't big enough for a regular sized reel. Then we found the Revo 50 series, and she was sold. Got her the regular Revo and the Winch for double 10's. Backlashes were a problem for the first half a day, and probably a day after that to get to the point where her casts went more than about 20 feet. Today I'd put her up against anyone as far as cast placement. What's been more difficult is finding rods that she likes. She's been using 8 footers, which she likes for the ease of doing figure 8's, but since she's a foot shorter than me, she struggles a bit working jerkbaits, ripping crankbaits, and getting the cadence down with a walk the dog bait, because she's slapping the rod against the water even when she works it off to the side. I tried having her use some of my jerkbait rods (6'9" & 6'10"), but those were a bit too short and not very forgiving. We're going to try 7'6" MH for her for next year and see of those are any better. Anyway, she loves her Revo's. They're sturdy enough and hold enough line, but her hands aren't killing her at the end of the day like they were sith sone of the other reels.

You are pouring gasoline on a fire!
gf says she loves to fish with you, you are seen as a muskie God in her eyes.
Than the wedding comes.
Doesn't fish as often with you. Spending more time with girlfriends.
Kids come next, soccer Dad practise on weekends. You are not fishing as much.
Your equipment goes out on e-bay.
End of muskie fishing.
Just Kidding- my wife of 32 years is 5'2" small hands and can handle a 6500 just fine. Although she doesn't fish as much for Muskies as she once did, she is the fish gatherer for the family. Your gf will do fine with this or a revo 50.
