Pretty sure I rose that fish a few days before...Lee T. called me later in the week and said a client boated it the following Friday evening. Happy to see a picture of the beast. Think my knees are still shaking from my encounter with it.....

| I think Lambeau may be right. More large fish are being caught than just a few years ago. It may continue for a while, as new regulations are taking effect on lakes like Mille Lacs, and catch and release is being more widely accepted. My Chapter led Muskies Inc. two years ago with 25 Muskies at 50 inches or larger. Last year we increased that to 38 or 41, not quite sure. This year the members of my Chapter are on pace to put fifty 50 inch fish in the boat. I only wish I was one of the guys catching them. Three times this year we've had guys catch three 50's in a day. That's impressive anywhere on the planet. Are these the "Good old days"? I'd certainly say so. |
