How long after the sun goes down do you wait to start night fishing?

It depends on the time of year, and basically night fishing can be good anytime.. Just like fishing during the day can be good anytime.

I agree with Steve; what your waiting for might happen while your waiting so don't wait. Never stop and you wont miss anything.

agree. You do not wait you just have to decide how far after dark you will give them to start the night bite. Most guys will tell you its not the night bite if they are biting withing an hour of dark. Some times they bite straight thru and sometimes you have to wait for the night window to open. Sometimes like in the daytime they do not bite all LOL.

Wait for nothing. We drove up to the big pond and started fishing at 11pm. I got a 50-incher at 1am and my partner got a 49-incher at 7am.

Just keep chucking...............Fish till you can't and then sleep.

fish can and will bite any minute of every hour day or night....
fish when you can...i love being on the water late into the night..usually by about midnight you have the lake virtually to yourself on many bodies of water in WI and MN...
and there is nothing quite like a topwater hit at night or the solid thump of a big fish hitting your bucktail at night ..probably gonna give it a good run starting tomorrow night..

What time of year do you night fish? Does it get better as the water warms?
