Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Ever see a fish that totally messed you up? Theedz and I had an old girl up tonight that caused me to near come unhinged. She followed a Top Raider in first, pushing a 6" wake from under the lure. She made a weird attempt to suck in the lure,sounded like a bluegill. JUST a tiny bit of resistance but not enough to set the hook and she went down, took a left, and circled back on the bait, only to turn off it again. I was adrenaline pumped for a half hour, shaking in the knees. Guess the big muskies still do it to me, so I'm still alive!
We gave her awhile, and Theedz raised her on a Boogerman buzz bait, this time she did almost the same thing but didn't hit, turning off when she near crossed a shallow rock lip.
I think we will try her again tomorrow afternoon... 
She's gonna get a Ratt tossed at her, I think.  |

| I had one like that this spring. She came up on a sinking glider that was paused right by the boat. The water was dark and this huge head slid up at about a 45 deg. angle and stopped about 6 inches from the lure. I twitched the bait and she didn't move so I started into a figure 8 and she just slid back down. I had the shakes real bad. Came back later with a Wallygobber and she hit it, but no hooks. I went back the next morning and never saw her again. I hope you bag her, I need to see big fish until the water cools and I can see them in person. Luck to ya. Later |

Location: Hugo, MN | Ah yes, I remember the first time I saw her . . . She was chasing my bucktail with a stupid 1 lb Northern attached. Man was she big I was almost afraid to have her on the end of my line. I've seen her a few more times over the past couple years but she's never been hungry enough. I've thrown everything at her, even the vaunted Weagle with no luck. She's what keeps me coming back though because some day she'll be mine. |

Location: north central wisconsin | Lost one in Canada a couple weeks ago that still makes me weak just thinking about her. Much much much bigger than the 52 from earlier this year, much bigger than anything I've ever hooked in past years. It was one of those fish that look out of place. Sleep was lost, and now lots of gas money will be lost as I am in the process of convincing my wife to let me go back for her on a 4 day trip later this month....... |

Location: Iowa | Saw one on Mille Lacs just cruising right in front of our boat that was bigger than anythingI have ever seen...I have seen an actual 51" in the water and this was easily 10-12 inches longer than that fish...it was in the neighborhod of 60 inches...I was almost scared to throw a bait at it...I almost was scared to be in the boat...it supported it's length too...real girthy...by far the biggest fish I have ever seen in my entire life...and I have only been muskie fishing for 6-7 years...

| I had one slow and low behind a shore lunch stringer on Rowan Lake last August. I too was almost scared to throw back at her. This fish has by far the longest fish I have seen to date. I went down to pick up a different rod, and she was gone. I have put my hands on 52" fish and this one was not even in the same neighborhood. It truly looked like a sea monster! I spent time in this particular saddle for the rest of our trip and never saw the fish again. I love big fish......... |

Location: Northern Wisconsin | most of the time any muskie over 45 can do that to me. i had one on the chippewa this year follow and when
i first saw it i thought it was maybe a small patch of weeds but i noticed it stayed right behind my
lure. i got so exicted/scared i pretty much stopped reeling and just like that she turned away. i was shaking with excitement
and my heart was beating faster then after a 6 mintue wrestling match. o, just to let you know it was
around the big weed flat that goes from sand island to that little one. if thats any secret theres fish there. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Well, she was awol last night. We spent the evening on the are she would have inhabited without seeing a single fish. The wind was howling until nearly dark, but wasn't a big problem for boat control because of direction. I know where she lives.... |
