Anybody been doing anything with this bait this fall? Particularly interested in the Hang 10. Thanks, Homer

Posts: 220 Location: Downers Grove, IL | I got a fat 40" on a chartruese/black spot hang ten on Shabbona 2 weeks ago. These things look awesome in the water and are a piece of cake to work but this was my first fish on one after much throwing. My shoulder still hurts from chucking it!

Posts: 335 Location: Pulaski, WI | I've had a 45" and a 36" take shots at my Hang 10 the last two weeks, but both missed. On a side note, I foul the leader on it quite a bit, especialy if I pause it. I've tried short and long leaders, maybe no leader or not have a swivel? What do you guys do? I'm tired of bending up my leaders and wasting casts. ![]()

I use Florocarbon. I think the density of it keeps it from falling and fouling on the hooks. Anytime I have ever used a steel leader I would have problems with hooks fouling.

Had Mike from MRG make me an Atomic Perch Hang 10 Manta. Beauiful paint job. Unfortunately my line was wrapped around my rod tip on the first cast with it and my line broke. My NEW Manta slowly sank into 16 ft. Don't know how it worked but it sure looked nice sinking into the abyss. Hope nothing hit it on the way down but it's gone forever now.

Posts: 358 | First off gents, a note MuskieMachinery, OH NO!!!! Steve, let me check to see if I have one in stock man. If so, I will shoot you an email. My son in law has launched 3 of my personal baits into outerspace because he accidently hit the crank and in turn locked up the spool. Making my bait look like Sputnik crossing the lake! Hang Tens> I had a customer of mine up in Vilas Cty. last weekend and stuck a nice fish on a Hang Ten I did for him. I have one last trip up north this coming weekend (if I can get past this darn head cold) and you can bet large money I will be throwing Hang Tens and large Molly baits all weekend! Hopefully be able to post some pics when I return.

I've been using the Manta Hang Ten all season long here on Chautauqua Lake ,I love this bait and the muskies do too ! Great reliable action and very easy on the body, by far my best glide bait in my box . THE FERD

Posts: 2091 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Manta's have been my most productive bait in the fall in northern Wiscsonsin the last couple of seasons. I lost a fish last week on my favorite Lac Suel Perch and later in the day lost the Manta on a leader failure casting....I was crushed!!

Posts: 154 Location: Appleton, WI | John, I use a 100 lb leader with a ball bearing swivel at one end and a crosslock at the other, 10 or 12 inches long.

Posts: 2091 Location: Stevens Point, WI | I had a very high quality leader on made for heavy jerkbaits. The swivel failed on a backlash.

I bend the eyelet down slightly and it tends to dive more on the jerk and tangles less with the leader. Also when casting, thumb the spool slightly just before the lure hits the water and the bait and leader tend to straighten out and tangle less. SV

Posts: 1046 | Diffinately a fish catcher, for the leader problem I usse #174 single with a roesco and no swievel. Just a hair longer then the bait itself. When casting a sidearm lob is better, do not force an overhead cast with this bait as this can cause bent leaders and lost baits.
