Location: Northern Illinois | Do you use you live well for fish (eaters - non musky), bait/sucker, cooler, or nothing much ar all?

| I use the live well as an ice well when 'skillet' fishing. Two bags of ice and bleed the fish before putting them on ice. I think the fish just taste better when handled in this manner. In regards to suckers; We do some sucker fishing in November and I use a large insulated cooler with an aerator. When not in use it typically holds a walleye bump board, a sucker net and trolling boards.

Location: E. Tenn | On my E Mag, I use the smaller livewell to hold the crappie and perch that are destined to become fillets.. I maintain the large one to distribute juvenile muskies in October..
One year on "Stocking Day", one of the guys had a trailer issue, and another other boat wouldn't start. I wound up making four round trips to the ramp where the stocking truck was.. I was able to brag about how "I put 500 muskies in my boat one season"..
Musky guys have a great sense of humor..
Otherwise it holds the bump board, boat bumpers and such..

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | I’m trying to figure out how to keep my front livewell dry in my new boat. I even plugged the drain and got water in it today. I would like to use both for storage when not panfishing. Maybe my recirc lever is not closing fully. |

I have not been able to figure out how to keep my rear livewell dry. Tried different plugs, etc. Still gets some water. Ended up using for bumpers, no biggie if they get wet. |

I have not been able to figure out how to keep my rear livewell dry. Tried different plugs, etc. Still gets some water. Ended up using for bumpers, no biggie if they get wet.
The engineer at my boat shop said it's impossible to keep my live well completely dry. No idea why, but he's very smart, so I believe him.
Currently I use mine for drink storage. |

| Use mine about 3 times/year. Maybe once panfishing in the spring and then a couple times during a bass fishing derby when we have a live weigh in. Otherwise it stays empty and completely dry for the rest of outings. |

| It has been a while, but to keep my livewell dry for storage I believe I did three things. Large rubber plug from hardware store on the outside of the boat sealed with 3m 4200. Small plastic plug in the bottom inside of the livewell sealed with 3m 4200. Twisted shut the livewell inlet inside near the top of the livewell. Always dry unless I take water over the bow and a little will get in from under the lid.

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | I plugged the inlet at the transom, the overflow at the transom, and the drain in the livewell and I am able to keep it dry. I used plastic snap plugs and did not want a permanent “fix” to a brand new boat. |
