| New to the game and starting on my collection of baits. Given the wide array of color schemes available, I am curious what the color scheme is for your go-to, must have, confidence bait. Maybe favorite three? Thanks in advance for the help.

| Black and Silver double ten works great in LOTW. In fall, a 10” fire tiger Jake is a great trolling bait. A white 8” jake has taken lots of muskies and big jacks in the fall, trolling over points.

| Let’s see.. last time out got one on a really old creeper that’s wood color (was black but no paint left) and an orange jackpot...picked that color cause it was the only jackpot I had with me. Topwater color makes no difference, other lures it’s one of the last factors.. for all baits stay with black if you need a confidence color.

| I basically follow the the colors of the forage. On Chautauqua the main forage is yellow perch so I use perch colored baits. On Consensus the main forage is alewives so I use silver colored baits. Works for me. |

Location: SW Ohio | Down here fire tiger and the like works well especially when the water is dirty. Got them on blues and reds as well. Must be a southern thing. |

Location: Neapolitan Chain Of Lakes | Henry Ford said it best..........You can have any color you want as long as its black.....That being said, I hate to tell you my friend but some years down the road you will have every color they make (Plus custom colors) of your fave baits and if you're like me you will have 10 of each color of my best producing baits in debilitating fear that they will discontinue that color pattern. Welcome to the addiction. |

| I hear you. Grew up salmon fishing and I have so many spoons that if I brought them all on the boat at once, it would likely sink. I paint bass cranks for fun and money, plus I love to tinker, so I will likely end up making a bunch of garage baits. Not sure if that's a good thing or not. I note that some of my most effective bass baits are really simple colors/patterns.

| i only musky fish once a year and i have a real hard time abandoning good old black mepps blades. i need to learn to back off of it when it isn't producing--because i am certainly not at fault!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Location: Southern W.Va. | Seems like I get more action on dark colored lures . PB on black bladed/black skirt double #8 bucktail. Had good luck on perch ,sucker and shad ,but what do I know, just like Mr. Natural, just passing thru. |

Location: On my favorite lake! | Colors can make a difference especially when they want something relating to forage. I feel its a lot harder to find and tune in the color because of the population densities of muskies. Bass or walleyes its a lot easier to tell if they want a certain color as your going to run into more of them. Black, White , Perch, Bluegil and Firetiger are probably the most popular colors. Chrome, gold, Purple, Blue, Pink, Florescent Green, Bright Orange too can be good. If you are on pressured waters sometimes out of the ordinary works. If you are undecided what to throw the pretty one. At least it looks nice.
