Posts: 816 | I would imagine this is more aimed at those who purchase items on here cheaply than attempt to re-sell them for much more money a week later. I for one compliment the site on this new policy if this is the case. But if this means that someone can no longer try a lure on here for a fair price, try it and find it does not work for them, then attempts to re-sell it so someone else has the opportunity to try it at that same price than that would not seem fair to the community. I've sold numerous lures on here before that worked just fine, but weren't for me. I think most of the products that are sold and bought on here fit that category as well.

I agree, but after my post saying something similar was deleted pretty quick yesterday... I've been educated that it's their game, gotta play by their rules.

Posts: 556 | ???? Guess I don't understand what may be going on---I am not only a Musky Fisherman but also have a huge LURE COLLECTION---I am always buying / trading / selling lures on here--locally on craigslist and also ebay. Not trying to make Money--But I am always looking for a BETTER lure conditon wise that what i may have in my collection already----just goes with collection I guess-----I have bought lures only to find a nicer example maybe just days later --Once I get the one I want I sell--and sometimes RE_SELL a lure I may have bought previously-----What could possibly be wrong with that ???? Again--not a money making thing--just trying to free up more funds so I can continue my addiction.---I don't always remember where I purchased every lure---I probably get 10-15 lures a week in the mail--hard to always remember where or who they all came from ??? Juszt hope I am not the cause of a problem--didn't think I did anything wrong if it was me.

Location: Hayward WI | Jim, The issue that started this were items bouught off the board re-listed the day they were received for a couple hundred bucks more than were paid. What your talking about seems within what's always been the norm here.

Posts: 32957 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The issue is buying with the obvious intent of reselling here at a profit. Of course it's OK to sell an item like a lure you tried out and found it to be 'not for you', but don't use that as a transparent excuse to retail/resell and don't try to rip big profits from the resale in the process. If the offending party who caused this to be posted had placed the items for sale at about the same price no issue would have arisen. That thread was an embarrassment to almost everyone posting to it. Retailing is specifically prohibited in the rules. This board is intended to be used to sell or trade personal items from time to time, not set up a reselling business... or APPEAR to be. Use common courtesy, respect the rules we have set for our visitors to use the free service we offer, and keep personal disputes off the board, and all will be well. A dispute doesn't mean you can suddenly become a cyberjerk and attack someone else here. Don't do that EVER if you value your access to the BST board, take it to Admin via PM...NOT the party you disagree with. To talk with them, use your personal email.

Posts: 1202 Location: Money, PA | Just playing devil's advocate here, but how are you going to justify or proove who is doing what? IMHO and I know, who cares about my opinion! I think that if someone paid for something that someone else sold and both content with the sale....It is NOBODY'S business what is done with the item after that....If someone makes a profit on an item, more power to them....all this dictating just seems brought about by someone who is jealous just because someone else made out. These stipulations just create double standards IMO and eventually would be better off not to even have a BUY & SELL section because of problems created. Example: Say I buy a lot of baits....I bought the lot because I specifically wanted only 2 of the ten in the lot. I resell the other 8 I don't want and turn a profit....Anything wrong with that? Even if I do hike the price up a bit....who cares....nobody cared to buy it if/when it was cheaper and now theres a willing buyer? Who cares as long as the Seller & Buyer are both happy! I can't even begin to understand who is complaining in this whole scenario....Just sayin' SORRY, I wrote this before I read Sworrall's reply...his words made more sense... Posts: 1207 Location: Pigeon Forge TN. | In the past I have bought a lure here and there as I was looking for a particular type which I than stripped down and customized than couple weeks later sold on here. I do sell customs on here also now and than. Steve There was a few problems on here long ago and I had asked then if what I was doing was in violation of rules. You told me no as I only sold a couple here and there and wasn't overdoing it. Has that changed now as I really am not trying to do anyone wrong here? I only try to offer what I don't ever sell to stores and it isn't a full time retail business.

Posts: 32957 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Nothing has changed, Stan. You are offering very cool products you create in limited numbers with permission from Admin, which is exactly what we encourage. ShutUpNFish, That happens alot...the part about posting before reading the thread. No worries.
