a full cup of coffee was spilled on my boat carpet I have power washed it with automotive car soap only and this did not take it out all the way does anybody have any experience with this. I was going to try resolve but I'm worried it may make it worse.

Thanks

I've used Resolve many times, in car, boat and house. No problems.

303 Cleaner and spot remover works or ZEP makes a couple of carpet cleaners that work really well.

I'd be careful about using soap on boat carpet like that. If you don't get all of it out it eventually the glue holding the carpet down will break down and the carpet will pull loose.

The adhesive used on boat carpeting is solvent resistant to a degree and usually isn't the culprit even with a gas spill, it takes acetone to remove the glue; it's usually the backing on the carpeting that lets go. Soap shoud't be an issue.

I have had coffee spilled in my boat many many times. Hours of sunshine beating down on it, coupled with hours of rain falling on it will eventually take all stains away ... Use that stain as an excuse to fish more

Ok, so then the next question is what causes the backing on the carpeting to let go? I've been told by a few people not to use soap, just pressure wash with water.

Dude, you gotta tell your idiot buddies to stop spilling coffee on your carpet! Oh wait, that was payback! That's what you get for drinking moonshine till 2 a.m. the night of a tournament

Glad you got the stain out....

Beer works well to get rid of the coffee stains:)

True story first night in my new boat. Partner spills a beer in the first hour of fishing. We cleaned it up with some muskie slime by putting 3 in the boat that night.

I have never been one to worry about a coffee spill or beer spill in the boat. I get plenty of other debri tracked into the boat from the trip down to the dock.

Have a great season guys

Use Blue Coral Carpet Cleaner (Dri-Clean). You'll find it at most chain auto stores & Wally World. I've used it many times on coffee stain, hot chocolate stains from the kids etc. It works great. I use the spray on liquid stuff in the spray bottle not the foam spray stuff in the can.
