| I think the Knipex are going to be your best bet. I doubt many folks will disagree with that!

| I have not seen another pair of cutters cut like knipex. Your doing yourself and the recource a favor owning a pair. I learned the hard way. |

Location: Hayward, WI | The Knipex cutters will slice right through an 8/0 Mustad 3551 like nothing. Better for the fish, way better for you if you ever get a hook in you. Might as well spend the extra $20 or $30 bucks to get the best. I don't know how many times I have said those cutters (and a Frabill Big Game net) have been my best investment for handling fish.

| Get a pair of Knipex and all the other necessary tools , including a Hook Pick, or don't leave the dock/landing. |

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | I bought a cutter from Sears with a double action. It takes no effort, and I've cut every size hook on my lures so far. I even took a hardened steel bolt 1/4" and sliced through that with no problems. I know everyone swears by knipex, but I've never had a problem with mine... and they were only $11. Maybe I'll be eating my words in a few years, but if my pair ever starts to show any kind of wear, I'll replace them. |

| I have a craftmens bolt cutter like mentioned above. Cost between 10 and 15 bucks. I can't imagine that a pair that costs 30 dollars more would be that much better. I have had then for about 5 years with no problems . I use them around the house more than I do for cutting hooks without any problems. If I do have a problem I should be able to exchange them since they are craftsmen.

| I carry two Knipex cutters, a few Hook Picks, etc....
But my #1 hook cutters are Felco Cable Cutters. If interested get the Felco C3's or C7's.

Location: Madison WI | I just got a pair of the knipex spring loaded cutters at the Milwaukee show and they cut through 7/0's like they were butter. Last year I had a cheaper pair of hook cutters that ran about $20 they worked at first but after use they became more hinder then they were help. The only downside the the knipex is I wish they made the handles about 3 inches longer but that is something I can add myself. |

Location: Hugo, MN | I snapped a pair of the craftsmen bolt cutters while trying to cut a 5/32" stainless steel handle off my kitchen garbage can. It was the one I used as a hook cutter. I replaced them with a pair of Knipex and love them. I look at them as safety equipment for my boat. If you ever get hooked to a fish, you'll be glad you spent the extra $25. |
