Posts: 680 Location: Muskoka Ontario,Canada | I am building up a couple of custom "creepers" for a customer who persuaded me to give it a go. No wings on it yet but I decided to paint the first one up as a chipmunk! Posts: 691 Location: nationwide | Here is one I made for Gale Oxley last week, somewhat a novelty lure but it does work. I called it the flowage dragon. Compared to Snax paint job I am embarassed to put it out here . . . .but the fin looks awesome in the water swinging back and forth. I have a video clip of it in the water as well, if anybody wants to see it send me a pm with your email address Corey Meyer Edited by muskymeyer 5/31/2007 3:01 PM Attachments ---------------- dragon creeper 4.jpg (73KB - 73 downloads)

Snax, Great idea!! I love the chipmonk!! I have been working on one for Gale as well. It is a dying fish pattern. when I get it done I will post. The first two that I made for him- I didn't like. This one one is pretty cool. Although it will be the one and only creeper that I make.LOL. Joe Trueglide.com

Posts: 680 Location: Muskoka Ontario,Canada | mb79 - 6/3/2007 7:37 AM greate work ! are you going to put a fluffy tail on the chipmunk? As a matter of fact I am! I'm really excited to see this thing when it's clear coated and has the tail attached. I'm amazed at some of the other folks creeper baits that have been posted lately. Simply stunning carving and painting as well. I may just have to make myself a creeper or two for this seasons fishing if I ever find the time to self indulge! Thanks for the nice comments guys.

Posts: 680 Location: Muskoka Ontario,Canada | Actually, I've never owned a creeper nor cast one to see how they run. Is there anything I should know regarding wing placement. I know they need to be at an angle during retrieve but is there anything else that needs to be done to make it run properly? I tried it out today and it basically wanted to roll like a big buzzbait blade! lol I didn't add any weighting to the body so perhaps it needs a little ballast in the belly? It's tough making a bait when you've never even held one in your hands before. I did notice that one of the wings was mounted slightly more forward than the other. It's only a very small amount but that might be causing problems too. The guy that ordered it knows I've never made one before and understands that I need to tinker with it still. I want to get it working perfectly before I bill him or it will become a nice tree ornament come Christmas time if I can't get it to work right! lol Edited by Musky Snax 6/10/2007 10:15 PM

Posts: 107 Location: Mayer, MN | When making a creeper how do you know where to put the wings and are most wings made by hand or ordered?
