I would guess Lee would sell you wood. He does a great job on lure bodies and blanks. He uses kiln dried wood from the same stock for consistency. All I know is his eBay handle. You can contact him through eBay. Great guy to work with and I know a lot of companies use his talents for obvious reasons.

When i was producing baits, i used popple, or poplur, depending where you are from. Cheap sources of that is pallets, and pallet makers, who have PLENTY of scrap they would give you if you asked them nicely. I was cleaning out the basement tonight and found 100 or so blanks if you are intrested.

I've been using Alaskan Yellow Cedar for my Striper Lures.
It's nart as hard as say maple or poplar so it might not be
the best for Muskies and there teeth but it's easy to shape
has great decay resistence & is really bouyant. Might have
to add a couple more coats of Epoxy finish for the Musky.

cedars are good but soft. we use a good sealer to help harden the pores before painting. finishing with a 2 part epoxy coat.

If you are still looking for hard maple or bass wood, I can probably help you. It is all kiln dried. My email address is [email protected]. Thank you all for the good word. Lee from Muskie 911

lighter wood will dance more and float faster. Pine or cedar, soft maple or cherry is heavier but not to bad and will give you more hang time.
