Here in N.E. Iowa---I got up at 4:30 this morning to sleet.  Left at 5:00 to make my weekly trek of 130 miles to work for the week,  and 1 hour and 10 minutes later I was back home.  I had accomplished a great feat of 16 miles in that time.   The roads were solid ice then, 10 mph, hit the brakes and you were side ways.  Made the exit ramps pretty exciting to turn around.  I don't want to actually work outisde in this anyway.   Plow snow today and try it again tomorrow morning.  We're only expecting up to 5 inches here though.   Be safe today!!

I think we're gonna miss the brunt of this storm....thankfully! Be careful out there, people.

We have about 3" of new snow so far today and probably a couple more coming, we will have about a foot of snow on the ground total.

I have displaced about 7 inches at my house in the North Metro area of the Twin Cities. I would guess when I get home we will have another 5 - 6 on my driveway. Could be worse, Halloween 91 (30"), followed a month later by 24".

Slamr,

I care too. Why? Because I found this thread much more enjoyable and educational to read than your "going postal" diatribe.......

Pop in a musky video, grab a preferred beverage, relax and toughen up just a little. Musky First is counting on you.

Just south of the TC area, we recieved about 12 inches of snow. Worst part about this whole storm was the one car accident with a fatality...and it happened less than 100 yards from my house. Happened to be a car that was almost T-Boned by a Ford Truck. Passenger side was crushed in about 3 feet from normal. Watched the whole scene after the crash, watching them investigate the scene, pictures, etc. Not fun..and my prayers go out to the family who lost their loved one Sunday.

did the boyscout thing yesterday afternoon and blew out a neighbor's driveway. The look on his face was priceless. He looked puzzled, and then a huge smile on his face. He would have been shoveling for a couple of hours.

Don't know how much snow, but I know that we've had 9 watermain breaks in the last 6 days.
What is today?
I wish it was May 3rd!
