Posts: 5874 | Fished Saturday , 10/4/03, with KLY and JoMusky. Jo had a nice fish on after trolling for about 15 minutes, and we lost it at the net. Looked to be a fat mid 40. KLY missed a rip, and then I had to show the boys how it was done. I got a nice 38 1/2. Jo folowed with a 25"er, to this day, the smallest ski in my boat. About an hour later, I noticed a hard bend in one of the rods. I told KLY to check it, as it was his turn. He pulled the rod from the holder, and said he thought there was a fish on. I didn't hear the clicker, and he said that it was off(Jo set that rod). There was 284 feet of line out! KLY said he felt the fish, and it was big. I could see the rod tip pumping with what appeared to be a fish fighting. As KLY reeled and reeled, he kept saying it was a good one. As he got more and more line in, I noticed the rod tip making the same action. It looked to consistant, but I didn't say anything. Suddenly, KLY yelled, "There it is! On the surface, and it's huge!" I looked out over the water, and saw something large on the surface. I immediately told KLY he had one big............ 2 gallon Ice Cream pail!  Posts: 2061 Location: Belgium | that's nothing!  I hooked a whole tree in the water last time while trolling through a canal. How they hell it turned up down there, I don't know. Maybe it fell from a boat carrying chopped trees or something. But I bet it was 15feet long when I passed over it on the depthfinder.  I never had experienced such a hard take before. | ||
