Posts: 796 Location: Delavan, WI | anyone ever fish this lake- its located in northern WI near Mercer ? Booked 3 nights with the wife at a cabin on this lake - not looking for anybody's secret spots, just asking what I might expect and if there is any hazards I should be on the look out for feel free to PM me if you don't want to post on here Thanks!

Posts: 20248 Location: oswego, il | It is a very shallow weedy lake. Find the edges and fish them. Not a hard lake to fish and some decent ones in there. Beavers resort has a great burger it's the cost of using the launch. Edited by ToddM 8/27/2018 5:35 PM

Posts: 20248 Location: oswego, il | True, i usually hit it for half a day. Worth hitting though. I always wanted to find a way into the 3 black lakes but i suspect that's kayak only.

Posts: 796 Location: Delavan, WI | Like I said im there with the wife so I won't be fishing hardcore its the only vacation were taking together this year so mainly kicking back and relaxing, hopefully we catch a fish or 2 seems like a nice lake from reviews and there is suppose to be a 23 ft hole and avg depth was 9-10 ft according to what i gathered up so I don't think its all super shallow

Posts: 20248 Location: oswego, il | It is largely shallow. The deep water is a relatively small area. Having said that there are plenty of edges even in shallow areas. Plenty of pike as well if you use small baits. Get a burger at beavers resort.

Posts: 1767 Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | Caught a decent one on the backside of the island with a gold/Black bucktail. Didn’t spend too much time out there though Edited by Musky Brian 8/27/2018 7:25 PM

Posts: 796 Location: Delavan, WI | Thanks guys can't wait. I will post results good or bad either way sure beats work and cabin we got has a beautiful water view Its about 15 ft away from the lake BTW I'm guessing water is a tea stain color with some clarity? Or is it a darker stain to where you can't see much at all Edited by muskymartin67 8/28/2018 12:11 AM

Posts: 40 | There's some nice ones in LOTF. Water is stained, but there's still clarity. Beavers has a new owner. He's a really nice guy. Don't recall if I've ate there or not since the new owner took over, but the beer is cold. Dear Lodge has great pizza not too far from where you're staying. Midway has good burgers. Marvin at Donners upgraded his kitchen and has good burgers and pizza. All of the above are good for a beer.

Posts: 796 Location: Delavan, WI | Bites been tougher than I hoped for, did have a decent fish blow up on WTD lure never got hooks in it i was told water levels way up from all the rain we did catch half a dozen pike or so all hammer handles, also had a low 30s swipe at a suick and miss saw the white belly roll, but not sure if pike or musky. Just got chased off the lake by a thunderstorm. Going back out in the afternoon.

Posts: 670 Location: mercer wi | Just got off flowage before storm hit. Got 3 mid 30s this morning and missed another same size. Was on water by 6. Got all 3 in major between 630-715. Keep fishing and good luck

Posts: 556 | Got to be a good weed fisherman for that lake--- I have fished it quite a few times... I will say I have had action even in the shallow weedy areas in the summer.... I fish spinner baits-----not musky size but the largest bass size I can find---- Add a twister tail and upward facing trailer hook.... We cast those in the shallow weedy areas all year long and have lots of action---- Musky, Bass, Pike and the occasional nice walleye...…. Now the Hard core Musky guys won't like to fish with the smaller baits----But they snag way less---easier to fish in the shallows and we have caught fish up to 45" in Lake of the Falls with this method..... There are actually many Musky in this lake---most would be in the 30-40" range----- but a few large ones are mixed in also... Edited by esox911 9/2/2018 4:34 PM
