Location: Lebanon,Mo | Been thinking a bit (doesnt take much) about what market would be out there for a boat/trailer only. Im talking about no motor/trolling motor/electronics.At some point in the future maybe late next year i want to sell my rig without the items listed above.Pretty much for the fact I cant replace those items for the same as new even though they are basically new,but would have a used price,i think?? Anyway,I looked into NADA vales,but not so sure thats accurate when you pull some of those items off.So do you think theres a market out there for a boat/trailer without the expensive goodies without giving it away...??

| Postitve is for buyer to put/add on boat the way they want. Only negative I can think of is it will take you longer to sell just boat and trailer. I would leave motor on if you want to sell them. Jmo |

| I would say it depends on the demand for that particular boat in your area and what amount you consider giving it away at? What year is it? It looks like a nice, clean, well-kept boat. Even without any components I think you could make out pretty well.
You could also get some smaller, lesser model trolling motors/gas motors/electronics from Craigslist, here, other websites. I don't know how much of a profit you would actually make after going through all that trouble, but I think I would help it sell quicker. |

Location: Dane Country | When I bought my boat, I got boat, motor and trailer. I feel you should leave the motor on. I didn't care about everything else.I won't buy a boat without the motor since I don't have a spare laying around. Just my opinion. |

Location: North/Central WI | Good used tillers can be extemely hard to find. I know it took me over a year to find one when I wanted to replace my outboard. It will be difficult to find buyers if they cannot locate an outboard to purchase for your boat. I can't see too many guys that would want to buy a new tiller and put it on a used boat. I would leave the outboard on if you are going to sell it. |

Location: Lebanon,Mo | Yes,it's was very well kept and low hours.Boat/Trailer is a 2003 model V165 Angler.And as a note...I purchased the boat/trailer over a year ago and added everything to it(sonars,seats,trolling motor,outbaord,etc) in August 2011. |

| Personally I don't consider a boat with the wrong trolling motor to be worth much more, if anything, than a boat without a trolling motor.
I looked for a boat for over a year and sellers would constantly brag about the 50lb trolling motor they had on a 17' Deep-V. That motor had absolutely no vale to me whatsoever. The same went for old electronics, stereos, bimini tops, old batteries, et cetera. All the items they thought significantly increased the value of the boat were completely worthless to me.
I’d start looking for the boat size, brand, model, anything immediately. When you know what you want out of a new boat it becomes really easy to see what you want to cross over from your old boat. Unless that’s a 70lb trolling motor, you probably don’t want it. Unless that’s a good fish finder, you probably don’t want it. If you’re upgrading to console boat, you probably don’t want that tiller. While that 2003 looks new, it’s still an 03 and it ain’t getting any newer.

Location: Lebanon,Mo | Yes...As long as I live in Missouri,40hp will be my limit to fish a restricted lake. I have about four boats from G3 that fits my needs and do very well with a 40hp. It will be a brand new boat,and in no hurry to buy it.By the way...the trollin motor in the picture is gone and i now have a new Powerdrive 55lb on the rig now.It's plenty for that boat. |
