Hey guys my fishing buddy and I started going after muskies about 2 seasons ago after our river went through a horrible fish kill here in the Shenandoah Valley. The Musky seem to be the only fish that were not really effected so we thought why not....well we have not looked back since! I don't think I have thrown a Bass lure since! Here are a few of our catches and one is of his father in-law with a springtime pig! Please forgive us for the use of the Bogas but we have since put them away and will not be using them anymore. Thanks for a great website I love reading and looking at all the monsters that are on these threads.
The first is night pic with a cell phone (camera batteries died) That is my fishing partner the others are me and the fatty is his father in-law.

The river has bounced back nicely, at one time the DNR had said we lost 80% of our adult Smallmouth population, and the fish that you did catch had lesions all over them. The Muskies that we caught all looked healthy and starting to catch more and more quality bass.

Nice fish, only suggestion would be is that in the pic with the fish in the net it looks like a terminator leader.

I would dump those unless you are using them for only bucktails, even then they can break pretty easily. Something to look out for

np, ive had people stand by them and say they won't break, but only after about 8 hours of using them throwing mag dawgs, we caught several of them coming close to snapping, even had one break throwing a regular bulldawg a long time ago.

You would be better off in the long run with anything other than a straight wire. Or if you learn how to make your own wire leaders you can save a lot of money

Just getting in on this thread....nice fish! I'm from northern VA (Fairfax County) planning to hit the Shenandoah in a few weeks for a shot at a muskie. Not familiar with this river (have fished James & New for muskies) and am looking for a close boat ramp with water that has musky habitat. Have you fished up in Front Royal at the Luray Avenue boat ramp upstream to the 619 bridge?
