Have any of the Metro Lakes started to turn. I was out last week a couple times and temps were in the low 60's, just wondering if we got below 58 degrees in the metro lakes?

yeah i think quite a few lakes in the metro have already turned because they got so hot, we had turnover conditions 5 weeks ago on some lakes, i'm hoping it won't be an issue again this month

Location: Twin Cities | Some lakes have turned once for sure, i know of one that is on round 2. If the weather stabilizes, it'll prolong it or cause a restratification of the column...indian summer go away!

Fish Forest Friday. Water was pretty green but other wise not much evidence of turnover. Temps 57 in the am, 60 by pm. Very few green weeds. Haven't there at all this summer but seems like the harvesters maust have really cleared a lot of my go-to fall spots. Only saw one fish, very shallow and follow slow belly to the bottom.

White Bear was 60-62 Sunday. Very green but probably not turned. Lost a low 40 on a dawg on the shallow tip of a deep weed edge, others reported seeing fish very shallow, but no eaters. Big orange sign says the ramp was closed starting Oct 8, but nobody seemed to be paying attention to the sign today. Not sure why the ramp's being closed.

White Bear ramp was only closed on the 8th while they repaved in front of it, I don't think any further closures will happen, they just didn't take the sign down right away. I do think it's turning again and I think it turned about 5 weeks ago too, been in limbo ever since with random fish here and there but nothing resembling a pattern and not many bigger fish around. Saturday the water was fairly clear all over.

Posts: 633 | I was out yesterday, and the temp gauge was reading between 63 and 65 degrees on White Bear. I saw at least 1 shallow, and saw another guy land one trolling by the rock pile straight out. Weeds are very thick.

Posts: 167 | temp. doesnt much matter on a fall like this. I fish the west metro and the lakes around here are coming off of turn over as we speak. the evidence is pretty clear......look at the pmtt for example. Not only that but if you are on the water enough the evidence speaks for its self. The Light green slim and weeds that are on top of the water...not too mention watch the leaves. Genereally you do not see leaves circulating underneath the water callumns. Just my opinion.
