Posts: 723 | absolutely love them! unlike most snaps out there, these things are pretty much fool-proof to come open on a fish. yes they handle big baits, and very tough in general. have straightened split rings out and bent hooks out, pullin baits free from snags, no wear on the snap. eventually they will turn silver on you, lose a little spring to them. thats when I just replace them. no problems with them and been using for about 7yrs? I really like the # 5's for just about everything, #4's for smaller stuff. 6's are ok as well, mainly use for trolling. hope this helps.

Posts: 1243 Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | It's the only snap I trust for muskies. dogboy summed things up pretty well. They also have a size #4.5 that's new this year. There's a pretty big difference between the 4s and 5s, so the 4.5 was a great addition. Aaron

Posts: 692 Location: Pelican Rapids, MN | They are also the only snaps I use - Although I had 2 fail last year. I was told, there was a small batch of bad wire. WHo knows - but for the amount of them I use in a season, 2 is nothing.

Posts: 723 | ive seen guys fish with ones that werent closed all the way. just hooked on the outer ring and not all the way thru, or, the person was too quick to snap the bait on, and threw it out there without closing it at all. I have yet to have a failure and used a lot of them, splitrings have lost quite a few baits for my buddies in the last couple years, especially gliders due to the wire starting to work its way off the ring, not kidding at all, they use a lighter guage single strand wire, thinkn 84lb, and both have lost multiple baits, Ive never lost a single thing using these snaps. get some, you'll love them!

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | It's all I use too, and they are great. You'll always have the split ring vs snap debate, but if you decide to use a snap, the Stringease snaps are THE snaps to use. curleytail

Posts: 692 Location: Pelican Rapids, MN | I am going to try the split ring deal this year. I have never tried it before. The string ease snaps that failed were actually brand new and closed properly. They just failed. In the last several seasons, I have used hundreds of Stay-Loks, in all sizes and situations. They are the best snap out there no doubt. In my case, a couple failures hasn't phased my overall trust in them.
