Caught these 41" and 47" at the same time last week trolling 10" Jakes at LOTW. Had them both in the Beckman at the same time. I wish I'd gotten a girth measurement on the 47. She was pretty fat. Does 24-25" sound about right?

Yeah, was exciting. Brother's rod went off first and he started bringing in his fish, I was driving boat away from rocks and wife started fast reeling in her line to get it out of the way when the second muskie slammed her bait. Brother and wife were both fighting fish at the same time - and was brother's first muskie - and me wondering how to land two fish. Thanks to the big Beckman.

I think the 47 is well above 20" girth but I'd appreciate some more comments. I have a replica in my office that's 21 or 22" girth and the 47 is fatter than the replica. Wish I had gotten a girth measurement of the 47 and also a pic of both fish in the net in the same time. That'd been cool.

Awesome pics and story. Why put two fish, two leaders, two JAKES and six TREBELS in the net all at once?? Maybe get the little one off first then net the 47. I can see doing this with a double of walleye or bass caught on jigs, but two muskies on crankbaits in Oct? You've got me beat on that one.

VERY nice fish, and a great story. I'd guess the 47 at about 22, maybe a bit more. Hard to tell from an image, but overall, one heck of a nice fish. Congratulations on the double!

The 47 was last in the net and first out. As soon as we got her netted the hook came out. I don't think it was more than 90 seconds from net to her swimming away. The 41 was hooked really good on the bottom of the jaw. Had to work on her a couple minutes and then cut the hooks. Quick pics, about two minutes at boatside and then she swam away strong. Then we all looked at each other like "Can you believe that??!!"

The wind was also a factor. The waves were crashing the shore we were trolling and I didn't have the option of letting the 47 swim around while I worked on the 41 and the boat kept drifting toward the rocks. I had to get both fish in the net so I could control the boat. Had the net on the upwind side of the boat and I think that was better than downwind where the net would've been sliding under the boat.

And once both fish were in the net they were pretty quiet and there was plenty of room. My brother even commented afterward that we probably could've put a third in there if we had to.

Awesome story, awesome memory, great photos, nice fish!!!! Nice chunky fish, but I'd say 22" is a gift. I haven't girthed thousands of fish or anything, but they're not as big as you think they are.

Who cares, great fish!!!

Girth on the 47" would be about 21-22"...... Very nice catches, and at the same time..... What a blast!

The 41 was probably about 17 lbs. and the 47 about 28 lbs., so about 45 lbs. total, which is as much as one 55x26.

By the looks of the pictures, cold and windy, size does not matter. Two fish on at the same time in those conditions and being able to boat both of them is an awesome accomplishment in my opinion.

By the way both are nice fish and that 47" is definately a chunk, very nice!
