Location: Chicago | Would you consider map marking all in the realm of a days services? Do you generally talk about places you fished through the day? Always unsure of going out with new guys, but my past experiences have been enormously resourceful and entertaining. |

Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | Absolutely. I would mark your map up without doubt. I would add stuff we didn't have the chance to get to and explain in depth each spot we did. That is what a client is paying for in my opinion. If I didn't do that, then you are just fishing with me.
I have been known to mark up maps for clients on lakes we didn't even fish. If they are in the area for a week and want to try a lake we didn't get too, I am more than happy to give them a jump start with some proven spots. |

Location: Browerville, Minnesota | Norm is king!!!! During OM last year, he helped out all the vets marking up their maps and giving them the information about why the spot is good. Even gave an impromptu class on reefs and what makes one reef better than the rest. Top notch guy!! |

| I agree with Norm, marking a map in my opinion is part of the days work. Sometimes you just can't fish all the spots. Nothing wrong with adding a few for the clients next trip.

| i agree with those above.
i mark maps all the time. i believe it is part of the job and i will do my best to put them on fish during there stay in the area.

Location: Racine, Wi | I agree as well. If a client forgets to bring a map, I'd do it at a later date as well. Plus you can mark up spots for different seasons as well. |

Location: searchin for 50 | Some guides do it, some don't from my experience. They will mark the spots that you have fished that day so you can fish them over again but not any spots that you didn't fish. Of course the guides that went beyond their duties naturally received a larger tip.It's all about the service you get. Ask before hand if they will mark your map. |

Location: syracuse indiana | by all means yes, if i fish with clients and by chance we dont hit spots or even or other musky lakes.. i will show them all of them on their maps.. and even tell them how to fish them , ect... thats what i love to do is teach them all i have learned about this water....bill

| I agree, in a days trip you are paying for knowledge. I let my clients in on everything we do throughout the day, mark maps, and even give out a few waypoints. |

I believe when someone hires a guide they should leave feeling they just made the best investment they could have.
I am a teacher on the water. You will not only learn spots, patterns, lures, techniques, and equipment but I will explain the whys and whens to use all your new advice. Marking the maps is standard procedure in my opinion.
Thats is why guides are well worth the money they get paid. |

Any map anytime buddy. I don't know anything about US waters but, Lac Seul, and local lakes.
