| I see that Fig Rig has come out with a 8' XXX Heavy, lure weight 8-40 oz, line 80-125lbs and a fast action. This rod has a 5 year warranty and is priced at $119.99. How many of you are going to give this rod a shot? I think I will.

| They do have this rod out but it handles up to 20 oz. They also have the JAWBREAKER which handles 8-48 oz. baits and is 8' in length. THey both feel great and should help out with the dbl 10 & 13's. Looking forward to hitting the water with them this summer. I picked up 1 of each. |

| I've handled both rods. The older version (XXX) I think is now discontinued and the Jawbreaker has taken it's place. The Jawbreaker is a nice improvement especially the extended length handle. Should be a perfect rod for launching big plastics. Frankly I like a bit more flex in the tip for the big bucktails but I'm sure it will work. |

| Pete, the new version is the XXXH, this is new one the market. Last year's one was the Jawbreaker. Besides these two the only other one was the 8ft Hvy. |

Location: north central wisconsin | I actually prefer the 8' glass Fig for tossing the AC 10's all day. After buying a full set of these for trolling, I decided to try one for casting these big bladed tails, after a recomendation by Steve Jonesi awhile back to use a heavier(weight wise) rod for the big tails' to aid my 'winch' reels in reducing fatigue. What a great rod. Being a glass comp. they load up better than the monster heavy grahpite sticks, with the oft. clumsy flying doubles 10's, reducing any casting issue one might have with them(hanging up in wind etc..).
I think the XXXH's for the big rubber, huge cranks, etc., and will work with the tails too, but I think even these big bucktails, that really aren't so heavy as mentioned above, can benefit from a rod that can load and unlaod, with some degree of shock absorbing sponge for bursts thoughout the retrieve. But, I cannot wait to use my XXXH, for some of the rubber mentioned.

| I had a XXX Heavy Fig Rig that I used last year. We (Rollie & Helen's) didn't receive any Jawbreakers until the show season this year. I believe the Tri-Esox show was the first time I got to see one. So, I guess you're saying that there is also a newer version of the XXXH? Boy, this can get confusing. I'll have to give Terry a call and get this all sorted out in my head. |

Last year the 8' XXX was a prototype run. After I used the rod, we made the necessary changes and renamed it the Jawbreaker. There will be no changes to this rod to date. It is phenominal. Throw what you want, how you want. |

| The jawbreaker was a good purchase for me.. i got it just for larger plastics cowgirls/giant flashers. no you really wont need to throw baits that heavy all the time but it wont load up on the 8's which i like alot.. the price wasn't bad at all. |

| Pete, it is on the Rollie and Helen's site for $119.99, the only Fig with that price. It's also on www.figrigrods.com under that same price. Justin, is this a new rod for this year????????

| Ok, I just took a look at the rod on the R&H site. We were selling the XXX last year (the one Justin referred to as a prototype) and I think we just need to update the new listing to designate the rod as the "Jawbreaker". |

Location: Wausau, Wisconsin | That would be correct. There are actually 3 rods that are all basically the same. The original XXX was the prototype run. There were 50 of them and they were very nice. My only grip was the reel seat needed to be moved higher to help the balance. Those changes were made and there were another run of the new rod called the XXX. I thought the name was boring, so we made the next and future batches with the Jawbreaker name on them. So, to further confuse things, there may be XXX and Jawbreakers that are the same thing. All rods at retail level should be the new ones regardless of name and should all be the $120 price point. Just whatever you do, don't hit anyone with them, it could cause permanent damage.
On a side note, they will throw my new Tyrant very nicely.  Get my first run prototype of that in seven days...finally!!!!!!
