| Do musky's eat bullheads? I swear I heard that they did, but I accidentally put a baby bullhead in my fish tank with some minnows today over lunch and all three muskies in my tank proceeded to eat and spit out the little guy. A few minutes later I watched a couple of them charge the bullhead only to stop on a dime and just eyeball it.

Location: Chicagoland | Besides there sharp fin spines, they are mushy and full of fat. I know if I had to choose between a bullhead and a perch, I would go for the perch! |

| Helping out a freind at his outpost cabin in the angle on LOTW heard a big splash, saw the bullrushes move and then a bullhead flew ( I mean flew) threw the air and landed on the end of the dock.ridiculus! I think they try to...... |

Location: oswego, il | I have read they do and where bullheads are abundant, muskies eat them. I have read on the chip, when the bullheads are most abundant, they are the preferred florage as well.

Location: Yahara River Chain | Like what ToddM said. Taxidermist have found mostly bullheads in stomaches of muskies that came from the Chip. Maybe those muskies have to be bigger to eat them? Slow, easy catching bullheads are a favorite of muskies. |

| You can use live bullheads 7" and under as live bait in Minnesota. Maybe another option during the sucker soakin' season for those interested. |

| For sure they eat bullheads! #1 prey! nothing but fatty meat! Lure companies make bullhead colors. Meat and Potatoes Tackle Co makes yellow bullhead, chartreuse bullhead. Must work. |

| The trophy flathead dudes I know ONLY use live bullheads. NIghtfishing. They use heavy weight and drop them in heavy current on the up-current edge of deep logjams. Talk about tough bait.
Once, when I was much much younger and likely dumber, I speared a fat 14" (or so) bullhead while wading for dogfish. Flipped it up on shore. Next morning I walked down the shore line and that SOB was still alive. On shore, out of the water for 6+ hours, drilled and still alive. Always felt bad about that. But his brother sorts got me back when I grabbed another big one, like you would put your thumb in a bass' mouth, right? Guess what? He chomped down and I couldn't shake, or knock, that bugger off for 5 minutes. I was bleeding, which is less than fair, if you think about it. |

| Yep, O'Brien's 65lber was full of them. Whenever we leave the shoal that fish was caught on in the dark, we spotlight the sandy channel exitting the area (only one way in/out). The water is only about 3 feet deep in stretches and the bottom is covered in bullheads once it gets dark. Slow, bad eyesight and over abundant, I'd say they make decent eating. |
