Posts: 2691 Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Now that the muskie season has been closed and deer hunting is almost done I am into the icefishing for walleyes. The bite has been great with quality fish hitting the ice and dinner table. What do some of you do to keep up your fishing fix? Travel south? Icefish? Make baits? Surf the internet? Read eveything you can get your hands on? Shows? My daughter and I got out Saturday night and a couple from Friday night also. Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]()

Location: Lake Tomahawk, WI | Nice walleyes Mike! We do a lot of icefishing, plus some late season bowhunting. If I'm in Montana for the holidays we partake in some of the finest waterfowling around. Nothing like big flocks of mallards and geese working the fog-filled the rivers in sub-zero temperatures. Spring turkeys/walleye fishing then takes us up to the Muskie opener. JS

Posts: 401 | I head downstairs and build fishing rods while my kids are at school. The Chicago show seems to always come up so fast. I have not ice fished in two years until this year. My daughter asked why we have not gone ice fishing in so long....made me remember what is important. We have gone out several times already this year. I forgot how much I enjoy being on the ice with my kids with no distractions. Keith

Posts: 1106 Location: Muskegon Michigan | In 2006 we went to Ohio and Indiana and fished open water during January, February March and April. It helped us catch 226 Muskies and put my wife in the Winners seat in the Muskies inc womens division with 103 Muskies for 2006. I doubt this record will ever fall. I know what it takes to catch over 100 Muskies in one season especilly with two people in the boat. This year we are building Lures every day 7 days a week to get ready for the Chicago show. Placing like we did in the Mofc contest boosted sales by about 60 percent. Now the Mofc Lunge log is showing many fish turned in that have been caught on our lures. Talonz is expanding and it looks like Ill be doing a lot of winter lure building every year from now on. I started training my son on the machines. He doesnt Musky fish much ,says its boring. If I can get him up to speed I might get out on the Ice and maybe even get in a trip to North Spring Illinois in February. Have and be safe what ever you all do this winter, Mike and Michelle King , Talonz ,Fishall Lures.com

Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Icefish when I can. But my ice time will be cut dramatically seeing I'm taking a winterim class. But if I'm not icefishing or in school, then it would be spending time online and drinking beer. Skiing when I have someone to go with.

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | I fish for bluegills and crappies (sometimes Perch depending on the lake), walleyes, and northerns in the winter. Add a little smallmouth fishing to that during the open water season before muskies open. Looks like a few of those Beaver Dams have had some use over the years. curleytail

Posts: 734 Location: Watertown, MN | Mike Mill Lacs is on fire caught and released 4 muskies on monday, biggest was 46" 30lb fish, all fish caught and super shad raps. Kids got Wii for X-mas and was play Rapala fishing, can fish tonka and mill lacs for muskies. Then heading to Africa for Peacocks and nile perch. Pretty much spend winter in basement finishing up the honeydew list, painting, then floor, the trimming and it will be complete. Then usually head south for a week vacation and hopefully doing some more sail fishing in a couple months. Troyz
