| Just wondering if anyone will be attending the WCMC next weekend in Manitowish Waters, Boulder Jct., Presque Isle,Winchester? Any tips on which lakes in the chain have been hot of late? I'm guessing from what I've read Fawn, Wild Rice, and Clear might be a good bet. | |||

Posts: 222 Location: Hartland, WI | In my opinion, after fishing the chain for years is that Wild Rice is the most overated and dulest lake to fish. If you are targeting "small" fish this is the lake. Clear is a good bet, but their will be 15 boats in Haskins Bay alone every morning. Fishing suspended fish is usually a good bet on the chain. Rest would be a good bet if you are looking for a place able fish. See you up there, I will be in my lund predator.

Posts: 222 Location: Hartland, WI | Sorry Gander!! I just got active on this site this week. If you ever have questions regarding the chain do not hesitate. I am still up for a day on Tenderfoot for a day on the chain. Let me know. I know the chain VERY well, and it is a rare day I dont get a fish or two in the boat. Send questions this way....Take care bud.

| I've been fishing the tourney since 1988. We stay at Anette's cottage on Stone. I've always had good luck on Stone, along the shoreline of the big island. Island lake hasn't been to bad either inbetween the islands. Whats the hot lure been, top raiders? I'd also like to throw more spinner baits this time up. I agree with you on Wild Rice, I've had a lot of follows but they are on the small size. I'm staying the week after the tourney, hopefully the musky will have enough time to "regroup" after the onslaught they will see during the weekend. | |||

| To be honest, I have had much better results fishing after the tournament. The nite bite on the days of the tournament have been great. Obviously the fish do not count but it still beats sitting around. Spider, and Manitowish are great nite time producers. | |||
