Location: Minneapolis, MN | The dog days of fishing and not catching were getting to me so I decided to try some King fishing. Since I'm not setup to troll the big lake I thought we would try the harbors. We hooked up with Kly and took him with us for the adventure. Within the first 30 minutes Kly had one on. The battle was quite amusing. A 30ft boat rolled right on top of us and snagged up Kly's line with a dipsy. I thought for sure the fish would be off. Somebody on the big rig managed to free spool that line and Kly free spooled his while Slamr hand lined in the other boats setup. After freing the dipsy we found the king was still on Kly's line to my surprise. We only got one but it was a good time. I now understand why people love to fish for these bruisers. Here's a pic of Kly's fish.

Location: mount prospect illinois | I casted for them in the fall as a kid since i had no access to a boat and they are fun to catch. The fight is awesome. That is definately a fall run male salmon! |

thanks alot for the laughs and waiting on me. I had a great time, wish we could have stuck a few more! Defintely, was fun though with all involved in the circus acts when the lines crossed.

Location: Holly, MI | The Kings are in, and they are Big and they are Mean. There are a ton of 4 year olds being caught this year. Lots of 20 to 30 pounders. I, this is actually embarrasing, lost a rod tip to a huge king last weekend. The brute hit my downrigger line then decided to make one lap around the downrigger cable before heading down deeper. I could feel the abrasion on the cable and when he dove straight down my rod tip went in the water then the line broke (sawed in half)and my rod snapped up so fast the tip went sailing. I told my brother my rod tip was gone and he said that he heard it go over his head. This was all still before it was light enough to see.
They are a blast. Everyone should sneak out and land a couple of those monsters. |

Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Nice King boys !!! I got out Sunday morning at 5am for some action with two of by pals. We went 14 for 18. Most of the fish were the 3 year old kings and still silver in color. The harbor kings are looking dark here in Milwaukee. Lots of fish around the gaps and river.
We worked the cooler water north of the harbor. 60 to 90 ft of water was the best. The big Moon glow Pro King spoons worked the best. Fish were taken 30 to 50 ft down.
One big Rainbow (11 lbs), a big Brown (10), two shakers and the rest 3 year old kings. What a pile of fish we ended up with.
Speed over ground was up to 3mph at times and the fish were smackin the snot out of the spoons. We were off the water by 9am.
The action will just get better as the water cools. Some great action on the big pond for those who are looking for some meat and fun. Get in on the action while its hot. Jason/Mark its time to get down here !!!

Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI | Some silver 4 year olds still to be had out there as well. This pic is of my daughter with a short 2 hour trip catch; lost 7 others 4 of those screamers.
16' boat, 3-6 lines, good action; gotta love it.

Location: Eagle River, Alaska | Kings are always a kick. Here's one we got for my fishing partner Ed last month on the Kenai River. He was visiting from Kansas and this was his first king....an honest 40 lbs plus fish.

| Well, I've fished 4 different states, and another country this year. Been blanked in all but Ohio. Iowa's Lake Okoboji is different, and the eye bite was, to understate it, tough. If I had gotten Worrall's voicemail while I was still there Saturday, I would have stayed and fished the lake for muskies on Sunday with Caey Bohn. The DNR guy told me he's seen 50 lbers in there! Lot's of baitfish and deep clear water to grow them big!
Not sure where you get the idea I harrass everybody, Gregger and Shady! I'm one of the calmest, even keeled guys I know! hehehe |
