Really want to stay fiberglass and not go to allim. but Im struggling to find a fiberglass with kicker already mounted.. Is it possible to add the kicker motors to the fiberglass bass boats? Im really struggling with this have been looking and researching for months and I see the Ranger 620vs you can do it with but not seeing anyhting on the tritons or skeeters or stratos...anybody got any ideas here as to what to do or pics of things you have made?
thanks guys

All the walleye boat models from all builders are set up for kicker installations. Bass boats, not so much.

thats what I am seeing I just having hard time telling the difference when Im looking at adds..Seems the Ranger 620vs would be ideal but trying to find one used at dealer isnt easy any idea on any models of skeeters tritons or stratos that I could mount to? gonna post pic of boat see if anyone thinks kicker mountable on this one..

SWORELL Im fishing from a fiberglass 1987 bayliner trophy bass boat right now have no complaints except want lil bigger its 18ft...only other issue it only do 35mph so Im looking to upgrade its got old 7.5hp kicker that only push it 4.4mph my terrova 80# will hit 2.8-2.9mph...want to get a 20ft plus want a 200 or bigger on back but need kicker 2 lakes I fish regularly have 9.9 motor restrictions..what boat would you be looking for if you were me...I Mainly musky fish only do lil bass and crappie and walleye when I dont have enough time to musky..those waters much closer for me...not worried about anything but musky fishing...what should I be looking for? Like I stated would love to find a Ranger 620VS at dealer but not going to well right now and dont wanna drop 70k on new...thanks

Deep V models. Go to each brand's website and look at the multi-species deep V models. Walleye boats. for lack of a better term.

I remember you posted a picture of a tournament on this site, one of the teams had a gas kicker mounted to a legend v20 bass boat.

Most bass boat brands will void the boat warranty if you mount a kicker because the transon is not designed for one, they are not designed for the extra weight for good performance, and overall, it's a really bad idea.

When I was doing my exhaustive boat search over the last couple years I discovered much what Steve says. There's no practical way to put a kicker on a fiberglass bass boat. And most manufacturers said that installing any kind of kicker bracket would void the warranty. About the best I saw was a fella who used a Talon sandwich bracket and applied a mounting board on that for a 8 HP, 2-stroke kicker. He said it was rock solid and he could get a little over 4 mi/hr. He only used it for limping across HP-restricted lakes and not for sustained trolling.

This is one of the main reasons I got the X-190. It has many of the qualities of a bass boat yet has a transom that I can put on a kicker. I take about 3 trips per year to HP-restricted lakes.

I just talking to a guy in my bass club last weekend and he has a kicker bracket installed on his Ranger glass bassboat. He said it was installed when he got the boat. If you're not worried about the warranty there's gotta be a way to securely install it on the back of the glass boat. Probably be just easier to get a glass walleye boat if you can find one in your budget. There are a lot more used bassboats out there. Depends what type of boat you want. Good luck with your search.

Might want to look at the Tuffy X-190, bass boat performance, but can accommodate a kicker as well. http://tuffyboats.com/boats.asp?class=9

The Skeeter MX 2040 and 1825 are excellent musky boats that are made to mount a kicker on.
