| The nacl 50 5:4 or calcutta 400D for double 10's? Was curious if anyone has used both and could get pros/cons. Thanks |

| The 400D will perform much better than the nacl 50 w/ double 10s.
Nothing compares to the Tranx though. |

| For what it is worth my buddy has a 5.4 Nacl 60. With the power handle 10's feel just as easy, if not easier than my Tranx PG. Granted they are not going nearly as fast, but still very easy to reel in. I also have a 400D on my rubber rod I have thrown a few 10's with. Reasonably easy, faster than the 60, but as fast or easy as the PG. |

In my opinion it would be silly to get one of those over a Tranx PG. There are many of these reels that guys are willing to sell that are either new in the box or used once or twice for 360-400$( some guys find them too big). And as stated the Tranx is a much better tool for the blades, the speed you get with little effort is ridiculous... |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I have both. Both work about the same. The D400 feels really nice, smooth as glass, but doesn't cast further or work me less than the Revo. I am pretty much using NACL 60's most of the time now due to the ease of use, larger spool capacity and low profile. The 2 50's I have are now set up for my Fall larger gliders and cranks. |

| I have a 400D. Used it for the first time last weekend with some Double #10s. It can handle them but would not want to throw them all day.
Was extremely happy with the reel but this is my first bait caster. |

| This doesn't help the poster, but I'm not sure how some think the Tranx is uncomfortably big. I have small hands, but if I slide my index finger under the front it's like holding onto a bass reel. The reel just pulls against my fingers. Couple it with a split grip rod tucked under the arm so the but pulls against the back of my arm and you can rock double 10's all day. It's so easy that I keep thinking the blades are fouled up. |

| The nacl 60 hs with the power handle is sweet. 31 inches per crank depending how full the spool is. I like it better than the 400d for big blades. 27 inches per crank depending how full the spool is.
Holding the rod is harder than cranking the reel IMHO |

| I think an overlooked issue with the Tranx is rod - reel balance. I have an HG on a H Predator and it is clunky as the blank is lighter. I have a PG on an XXH Predator which is a heavier blank and the balance is much better. For whatever the reason, this makes it easier to cast over the course of a day.
I haven't used the NACL, but I do have a 400D. It does fine up to Jr. Cowgirls. With 10s it will work, but as has been said repeatedly there are much better tools for that task available. |
