Posts: 750 Location: Minneapolis, MN | Currently I have a black with orange dots Top Raider, baby loon Lil' Creeper, baby loon Hawg Wobbler, baby loon/glow TI Kraken, and a Perch Firetiger TI Hairy Plopper. I'm looking to add a Big Mama Dirty B and Big Mama Psycho Sister but I'm wondering what colors I should be looking at. I feel like I should be looking for something other then baby loon since I already have 4 black baits but I'm not sure. What do you guys suggest? I mainly fish Bald Eagle and Lake Independence in MN if that makes a difference.

Location: Contrarian Island | don't overthink it... 90% of my topwaters are loon colored...a lot more to a fish hitting a topwater than it's color...sounds/vibration, the squeak or plop it makes etc...

Posts: 150 Location: Appleton, WI | I always buy a white and black colored in every topwater. I think they hit more on sound then on look though.

Posts: 1906 Location: Oconto Falls, WI | I would just stay with continuing to buy loon for topwaters. That's what I do at least. I'm with Brad in that most of my topwaters are loon pattern. We know it works so why change.

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | Maybe boring but most of my topwaters are black. I've done well on orange bellied baits too in stained water. I think pretty much anything will work, especially for topwater, but I figure black will almost always silhouette against the sky.

This is my first full year targeting muskies and so I'm still building up my collection. I've only caught 1 Muskie and it was on a DCG. I really don't know when to throw a topwater or which one to throw.
